I'll admit, I'm not sure about us being literal duplicates, but I didn't want to risk the both of us being killed. I think the same thing applies here and that's why you don't see the same two people from different worlds. They must have made some kind of mistake with us because of the different names and assumed we were related. [Although that...might...be another possibility but. Shhh he's clearly feeling way too paranoid about this right now.]
