OH BOY Mr. Edgeworth. The man who solved the mystery of WHO KILLED HER DAD and seven years later, he, Kay and the entire gang go and sniff out the killer as well as the ringleader of the international smuggling ring that's in the middle of all this trouble following Edgeworth all over. But that's the thing. Kay doesn't become his assistant and do all these things yet, by Edgeworth's timeline. The previous Edgeworth knew all these details and more because he was from the future, but this one is from the past and needed a little talk about the future and how cool he gets chasing down bad guys. She had to go through wondering whether he'd believe her or not, and having to organize that story.
Despite that, Kay believes he's still the same old Mr. Edgeworth. Even though he might be grumpier and more wound up than the Edgeworth of her time or the last version of him, she believes in him and will continue to tag along with him on cases whether he likes it or not, and will extend her help again whether he likes it or not. He works hard, keeps a cool head (most of the time) and still has his super logic powers. She respects him despite needling him sometimes and making fun of him, and wants to be his assistant again. Plus, really, she thinks his powers are amazing, even if they come with a side effect that makes her tease him all the more.
It's just so much fun to watch him squirm and to tease and troll him. He needs to loosen up. That's a bigger problem with this Edgeworth than an Edgeworth later on down the timeline. Kay is going to take it upon herself to make sure he has fun and takes some time out of his busy schedule to smile and actually enjoy life.
