Arturia Pendragon (Saber) | Fate/Zero

i ⟅ Heropa; Showered With Unexpected Fame ⟆
[After arriving in Heropa, the young female soldier who'd escorted Saber from Cape Canaveral had left her in the local park to sight-see. Saber had now at her disposal a few things: a brief explanation of this world; the knowledge of why she had been brought (not summoned) here in the first place; a detailed description of how to get to her assigned residence from her current location; and a manila folder, the contents of which was small but was reported to contain pertinent information regarding her abilities, health, and status.

Thus, curiosity pertaining to the folder was only natural, wasn't it? Especially given that possessing a material body in this world (or any like it, for that matter) without possessing a Master was unheard of. She wondered, venturing toward a bench beneath the long arm of a tree budding with new life, would that be explained in the slim document that had been given her? Or would she be left with more questions than answers?

However, just as she was preparing to take a seat and indulge her interest, Saber found herself unwittingly drawing attention, attracting first the eyes of a nearby group of children playing with a throwing disc, followed thereafter by an older group of teenagers and adults who had appeared to be enjoying some kind of picnic. Brought closer by the dazzling sight of her armor in the sun (a very obvious sign that she was not from around here, if ever there was one) they began complimenting her and thanking her for heroic feats she knew nothing about. It was difficult to keep track of the many conversations taking place at her, but she did her best. A kindly spoken, "I'm pleased you weren't harmed in that attack," was offered one elderly couple, whereas Saber spoke more firmly to a zealous young boy, "You should not place yourself in danger. Please let those of us with the designation of hero do the fighting for you. That is our duty." They were words received with beaming faces, hearts swayed by her pride and her charisma both, almost as though the young armored woman were in her element.

But the truth was thus: the longer she spent being bombarded by comments and questions pertaining to things that she didn't fully understand quite yet, the more uncomfortable she was becoming. Masterful at hiding the fact, perhaps someone more observant would still be able to tell? Or, maybe they would even go so far as to lend her a helping hand...?]

ii ⟅ De Chima; Showered With Expected Rain ⟆
[Upon arriving in De Chima, the soldiers warned Saber of the threatening grey skies beyond the shelter of the base. They said the chance of rain was great, and while most of them offered no more than that, there was one who was kind enough to offer the King of Knights an umbrella. Saber accepted gratefully and departed for the city's downtown, which was not far from the base proper, but upon her arrival, was met immediately with the fierce showers she'd been forewarned about.

Fortunately, she had found herself a simple black suit ensemble to wear by this point, not unlike the one Irisviel had once provided her with. For that reason, beneath her umbrella, the rain did not touch her. Only her dark shoes became damp as she traversed the soaked city sidewalks in her attempts to familiarize herself with this world, both so recognizable and so foreign to her.

She thought that, given the weather, she would find herself without interruption in her self-assigned task, but upon turning the corner of a commercial block, Saber noticed someone standing unprotected in the rain. She wasn't certain if they were waiting for someone or if, perhaps, a 'bus' would be along soon to welcome them aboard and in out of the cool downpour, but it was because she did not know that she approached and, without so much as a word, held her umbrella over the stranger's head.

A king protects her people, after all. And even if these people are not those of her Britain homeland, she is compelled by chivalry to be courteous and to protect...with little regard for her own self and the beating of the rain as it falls quickly to soak her pulled back hair, her skin, and the dark jacket of her suit.]
