TL;DR cr meme

THE TL;DR CR Meme

It's that time again and why not start it off with a heart warming and tragic foreshadowing gif?

1. Post with your characters - if you have more than one, make a catch all under one header.
2. respond to other people's characters with your characters.
3. They will tell you exactly what their character thinks of your character in depth! Icly or oocly! Make it long, this is teal deer territory after all.
4. React if you wish!
5. You can use this stuff for cr charts or you can even link to something you have written.
6. This is brought to you by irony from one of the more unfriendly characters in game.

oh god ARE YOU READY FOR THIS

First it has to be established that while Ken does unknowingly look to Minato with brotherly fondness, unlike with Jaime, Ken has spent no time imagining what it would be like to have a brother like Minato. That's not because he wouldn't want him to be, but because he has no need for a brother like Minato if he'll already have Minato himself and he wouldn't give up this friendship with him for anything. (And this point we'll get back to.) That difference is mostly because he knows of Jaime as someone's older brother, but he doesn't know the younger sibling in question. He's also different from Tadashi where he knows and is friends with Hiro, and the fact that Tadashi is a lost brother means Ken is protective of those brothers' relationship and will not dare to have any thoughts that make him cross the line. Ken and Minato are both only childs so he has none of that association, and he also already has a special name for his relationship with him. Minato is a teammate and a leader, and for Ken who's finally starting to see SEES as something he belonged in -- it's only been a couple weeks since he started consistently calling Iwatodai 'home' rather than 'the world I came from' -- that's something way more special and irreplaceable than a simple friendship because it comes with the unspoken promise of understanding. They're not just his teammates, but people who know that he isn't crazy for being able to see the Dark Hour. And Minato is not only the person who leads, but also the one who explicitly and physically welcomed him (back) into the circle with all those hugs and the lent headphones. Ken will never want a brother like Minato; he wants this one. He wants to keep this relationship.

Minato had probably saved Ken in a lot of ways. He's not unaware of it; in fact, he absolutely craves this sort of acceptance so Minato's been doing great on that front. Ken's so keenly aware of how much everybody has reached out to him that it hurts, but instead of wallowing in the guilt of "I don't deserve this" that he plagued himself with, he's trying to roll with it and accept it until maybe it starts to feel natural. Ken's still at an impressionable age and while Minato might not be the best choice for a normalcy role model (god), he's definitely looking to him because he knows Minato's not perfect. He used to be like Akihiko, really. They're older, stronger, smarter, unflappable, but while Ken's disillusionment of Akihiko's grandeur is caused by Ken's changing perception (he can't quite agree with the guy's headstrong-ness yet because he doesn't understand it, and he thinks it's too flawed), Minato's brought down from the pedestal of "strong, invincible leader" because he's shared some of his vulnerabilities with Ken. He and his oddities have a way of saying "it's okay" that Ken's self-aware enough to realize he really, really needed. There's a way to have fun with this guy while also knowing that Minato will rely on him if they have to in battle. What I'm trying to say is, having time to sit down and get to know Minato without the stress of Strega and the Dark Hour is helping Ken grow through something he was supposed to have a lot more of at this age: consistent positive interaction with somebody he likes. It's easier to accept being a kid and not being as stupid-strong as Minato "I can use like a gazillion Personas and do anything" Arisato or Akihiko "I punch Shadows with my FISTS" Sanada when the most significant thing in your everyday life isn't life-or-death battles and adults trying to kill you.

And this strangely peaceful lifestyle here in MOM is addicting. Ken's a kid, so sometimes his thought processes and worldviews can be simple, but he is smart and he's seen a lot and most of all, he overthinks. A. Lot. You let Ken's mind loose and it'll think so hard and fast and out of control it can climb Tartarus all on its own, and one conclusion it's reached during his time here is that the 'Ken Amada' that arrived in MOM is a separate entity from the 'Ken Amada' of Iwatodai. He doesn't know about the theory of multiple verses or Schrödinger's Cat, but he heard from Jaime early on that so far, you can't take back anything to your home world. You'll return to the moment you were taken from, and that's that. For Ken, that means returning to the alleyway on October 6, hungry and alone. Minato assured him that he's still a part of SEES in the future, but that's not really a positive thing anymore. He likes his life here. He likes that he has friends and that he and Shinjiro are trying now. He likes that he doesn't have to cry in his room over horrible blisters and pains from Mudo attacks after everyone's gone to bed. He likes that Minato spends time with him, and getting to know him, and he finally has things to call his own now. He doesn't have to fill his emptiness with anger or hatred anymore because he has so much, and Minato started this chain of dominos with the armband he pinned to his sleeve that first meeting. He just gets inexplicably happy being around Leader so Minato will be able to glance over at him when they're just sitting together and find him smiling to himself sometimes. He adores the guy like no other and he's definitely his favorite person here, and he wants to spend more time with him and get to know him more, and he doesn't view it as a debt but he really wants to return some of that kindness he received from him while here!

All that said, Ken's also growing to be incredibly possessive of Minato here. Not against anybody else he's meeting here, but against himself -- that is, the 'Ken Amada' that's back in Iwatodai, who as far as Ken is concerned is the one who'll get to 'live on.' He was too down in the dumps to care at first, but with how precious and dear everything he's gained in MOM is to Ken, the idea of losing all of it if he gets returned to Iwatodai is unbearable. He's especially attached to this relationship with Minato because he's the one he sees the most, and that'll only get stronger once he realizes that he is dead. He's already full of the desire to protect him and emotionally invested in Hiro being able to save Tadashi's life -- learning that not only will he fail at saving him, but that he's already failed, will be crushing and probably fuel the deep envy he's feeling toward himself. He's so jealous. He really wants to stay and he wants everybody to stay, but he also knows that a lot of people -- himself included! -- have duties and worlds they have to get back to, so he's torn on that because he associates returning with the death of who he is now, and like he's said multiple times now, he doesn't want to die at all. Really all he wants is to stick close to his friends, learn about music so he could talk about it more with Leader, take Koromaru on walks, have more parties... have a shot at this 'normal' life that he and Minato have missed out on? And he's absolutely possessive and protective of that. Magicman told him that he would do anything to be with the people he wants to be with, and while he realized that as a selfish way of thinking and it actually chilled him, it resonates a lot with where Ken is now, and it clung to him in the way everything did when he was so vulnerable right after his attempt to die. What if he could do anything to hold on to what he has now, because his future in this world -- whether or not he'll even be able to stay here -- is unpredictable at best, and he really doesn't want to give Minato up to the Ken he left back home.

god this is overkill sorry your friends are never without issues Minato

Motoko, oh Motoko.

Kasumi is definitely starry-eyed at the Major, and finds her fascinating. But that she can back up her sheer level of "being interesting" with "being badass," well, that's just A+ in her book. I imagine that they've talked a lot more about tech from their worlds and tech here since they've met, like the one time they ran into each other in Maurtia Falls and probably plenty more at the hideout ever since Archangel started. Kasumi thinks they make a pretty great, kickass team, which honestly surprises her because she's gotten so used to operating solo again, or teaming up with people with wildly different skill sets from herself. The Major's skills are quite similar to her own, and that's pretty exciting, though that will probably give way to a little bit of a competitive spark at some point. All good-natured, of course, because Kasumi thinks Motoko is a hell of a lot of fun and a Class A Badass, and she respects that greatly.

Well, we all know that a hundred or so years into the future when Mass Effect takes place, Facebook will probably still rule the Earth alongside Google and if Kasumi Goto were to have one, she would also put down It's Complicated.

Because it is!

Whether you like it or not, Peter Quill, you're special to Kasumi. The exact nature of that remains to be figured out by her, if she ever bothers to, but the fact of the matter is: he was one of the first people she really hit it off with here, and the fact that he's of the same profession and also a spacer? What are the freakin' odds. She thinks he's a hell of a lot of fun, likes that he can keep up with her sass and--oddly enough, he's probably one of the first people in a long while to really return her flirtatious quips--and she just really likes their dynamic. But like a lot of other people she's met here, she's kept him at arm's length. Even despite the fact that he's even seen one of her memories. Sure, they've talked about how she stole the Mona Lisa and talked about the Reapers and I like to think that they did manage to exchange some stories about each other's jobs at some point, but still. Arm's length. But that's no fault of Peter's; if anything, Kasumi is a little afraid of getting closer to people, even in a friendly capacity, because well we all know what happened to Keiji. There have been a some exceptions, certainly (read: Charlie Maxwell and the sibling squad + Normandy crew) to that, just a handful of people who have managed to get Kasumi to talk more about herself, but with Peter, she hesitates.

Maybe part of that is because she's not quite sure where they stand, either. They're friends, first and foremost. Friends who flirt a lot. And by now she would even consider him a good friend just by virtue of how well they get along, but they also flirt? Like, a lot? Kasumi doesn't remember the last time, if ever, she had that dynamic with someone she considered just a friend (because Keiji was never "just a friend") and part of her really enjoys it, but part of her is a little hesitant. Now, you could say that she's gotten close to Charlie and others with no problems, but the difference here is that Kasumi is attracted to Peter. Like, okay, she has a crush on him. And she's had crushes after Keiji, sure, but none that she's gotten along with as famously as she does with Peter (cough, Jacob, who she also knows is going to be a babby daddy now). And on top of that, they've kicked some ass together, and she feels like she can trust him in that kind of situation as well, which is all just icing on the cake that is Star-Lord.

So, yeah, it's complicated.

And it's probably only gotten more so, at least on her end, because of the famine. It may not have been a big deal for Peter, but Kasumi's realized that the flowers weren't making her act affectionate out of the blue, but that they made her act that way because deep inside she wants to be affectionate with someone again. And that's scary as shit seeing how last time turned out, but it's forcing her to look at herself and her state of mind in a slightly different light. Although she won't act on it, because she's figured that Peter isn't a one-person kinda guy, and she's not in a state where she'd want to ask that of anyone, anyway. As for anything casual like picking up where they left off during famine--well, she's just going to. Cool it. For now. Because she doesn't know how to be a friend and a casual fuckbuddy either, and she doesn't want to mess up their friendship.

What she does want, however, is to get to know him better; they know a lot about each other on the surface, but in a way, famine did her some favors, because it's opened the door for her to maybe be more honest with herself around him. She's curious to know what his world (aka space minus reepurrs) is like and how he came to be a spacer and all that good stuff. So welcome to the Danger Zone too, Quill.

tl;dr I have no idea what I'm talking about anymore and she has kinda a crush on him but like they are friends and what do just ignore it ah ok cool cool

Conan's opinion of Kaito is an odd mix of complete annoyance at his personality and trolling, annoyance at his being the only criminal that keeps getting away, irritation at his chosen career path, and respect. Conan respects Kaito more than he does a lot of detectives. (The incompetent ones, of course).

And as much as Kaito irritates Conan, and as much as he would jump at the chance to get him arrested (at a heist after finally outwitting him), Conan also trusts Kaito to be an ally when people are in danger.

If they weren't on opposite sides of the law they'd probably be friends.

SLIGHTLY (a lot) BELATEDLY, knock out thinks xanatos might be useful! there are always humans around that are science-minded and maybe not totally useless when it comes to the level of technology he's used to, but not all of them are as pleasant as xanatos is. that's definitely points in his favor. he likes a well-dressed smooth talker with nice facial hair, possibly due to being an enormous narcissist. which means, of course, that he would never trust xanatos at all, because they seem similar and he certainly wouldn't trust himself — but he has hopes for a kind of working business relationship. you know, trustworthy as long as it's mutually beneficial to be so. that's the kind of relationship he's most used to, it reminds him of home. :']

what good friends they'll be :') and yeah, i'm good with working it out! knock out would have showed off a little bit of what he can do, maybe flashed some weapons (he deals mostly in zappy weapons, like tasers), and... if he gets the feeling that xanatos would be willing to help, possibly take him to his lab and show him his work on energon? that part might take an extracted promise to help or something, or some form of guarantee that xanatos wouldn't just take the formula and book it.

HEY CATBEARD. ramir is increasingly fond of kotetsu, in this weird way where she actually? doesn't?? want to hit on him???? she has yet to quantify him exactly, but maybe it's parental. whatever it is, she really likes having him around, and appreciates his sense of humor and laid-back-ness mixed with general concern for others. it's cute. and might make her miss her dad a little. whatever. also! she has some probably inevitable heart not-quite-break-but-definitely-disappointment coming up, THANKS JONATHAN, which will make her considerably more crimey for a bit. if you're still interested in that log, soon would be a perfect time for it!

Traci's kind of both curious and confused by Tiffany. She seems cool and she's fun to talk to but Traci can't help but feel like there's some stuff she's just not saying or something. They really don't know each other that well so that's probably safe to think it's true. There's a lot she doesn't say too after all. She's just not sure what it is and she's not just going to ask. So for now she's content to chat with her and try to find bits out. She's also super curious about why she's had such a big reaction to the mention of the Wrath of God she fought.

Basically seems fun, enjoys talking to, starting to like, but feels like there's something missing.
booyahh: (Default)

[personal profile] booyahh 2015-06-17 08:20 am (UTC)(link)
So her first thoughts about him were pretty much he's cute and a dork and that amuses me. Then he helped her out and she thought and he's pretty badass too but still in a dorky way, this is also nice. He made her laugh and that was fun and he was just so damn honest about who he was that it was a refreshing changes from the tryhard Kon's of the world. Basically it was a teen crush of I would spend time with this guy because he seems fun.

Then they started talking more and it became more of a friendship. He was the only person she really texted or called just to chat who wasn't what she'd consider a work friend. She really enjoyed their dates even if they went terribly and that's why they frustrated her when they went badly. Because she started to just want to hang out with him without having to go try to save the world or the city or whatever. They just had a good time. When everything got really shitty with the Titans he served as something for her to lean on a tiny bit, but still not that much.

Flash forward to now things have kind of taken a deeper turn. It's more than just the hanging out friendship or date thing to her at this point. He's a friend that she's started to open up to more and it's strange for her because she's not sure how to feel about it. What does it mean that it feels more serious? She doesn't know. The only thing she knows is that she's getting a bit more comfortable talking to him about things, if only because she really has realized that they sort of didn't really know that much about each other. Or well more accurately he didn't know that much about her.

It feels all complicated now but also not in a terribly bad way. He's still fun, she still likes talking to him, she still loves spending time with him, but at the same time there's more serious talking because it's almost like they've gone up a level. Now she feels like they're at some weird point where they start sharing things about their lives and feelings and that's deeper than just lets hang out and make out and fight crime. It's weird and confusing but it's been a pretty good. She's really just kind of hoping they can keep going the way they are because he's a pretty good dorky little companion.

My apologies, this is the latest response..........

Elsa is unsure what to make of Raina! There's such intensity to her friendliness that she gets thrown off balance every time they talk and she makes really half-assed attempts to pretend to be a normal ~good citizen~ because, based on her cheery public persona, she has a wildly mistaken impression of what sort of person Raina is. And normally she wouldn't give a damn, but she's already in the public eye here to a far greater degree than she was at home and she already has one person investigating her, so. Basically she thinks of her as someone she'd have to be on the dl around about her shady activities and just ends up acting like a totally suspicious weirdo because she's not subtle.

And the flirting! My god, the flirting. To a certain degree she just likes attention, so that's fine. But Raina is so over-the-top about it and she can't tell if she's serious or what. One day she's just going to be like 'lady, I'm straight!!!!'
