HEY BRUH. GOT SOME TEALDEER FOR YOU.

So, Ripley likes everyone, but sometimes adults are harder to like because some adults are grumpy and not willing to be silly anymore and absolutely 0 fun. Like Counselor Jen. (Except Jen is cool because she’s Jen.) That is so not a problem with Castle though. He gets excited about stuff, and goes along with stupid(ly awesome) ideas, and likes adventure, and he’s generally just fun. He remembers that life can be awesome if you make it awesome, and she really appreciates adult type people who are like that. It can be pretty rare.

The other thing about Castle that she actually likes about him, but would never have expected to, is that she feels like if she were to do something or say she was gonna do something that’s actually legitimately a terrible idea, he would stop her. He’s responsible like that and she know she kinda needs that in her life. If she didn’t have that she would eat ice cream for dinner every night. He kinda reminds her of her dad, and that’s comforting considering she’s actually pretty alone in MoM.

She’s been thinking a lot about taking him up on that offer to be a Lumberjane leader by the way. He might not be a lady-type, but there can be an exception.

This is gonna be a little repetitive of what I said for Castle but: James is such an easy adult for Ripley to like. He’s not all stiff and responsible and a buzzkill like most adults are, he actually remembers what fun is! And he appreciates her enthusiasm!! And doesn’t undermine the importance of things like catwidows and gatordads!!! That’s the greatest thing ever to Ripley, since mostly she’s used to being tolerated with an exasperated sigh and an eyeroll by adults who “don’t have time for this”. There’s always time for being dumb, and Tricks gets that!! …Basically, bless his silly soul. Never change.

Basically, she really likes Tricks and loves bother him cause he never actually seems bothered. Adopt her and be her terrible dad.

P.S. She’s pretty sure he’s a bunch of gnomes pretending to be a person or something. There’s no way he’s a legitimate adult person.
