01. The city of Heropa is what one might expect from a small, bright and cheery place, where locals are friendly enough and local shop owners might offer a free drink to welcome you to their fair city. Some of the locals might thank you for always lending your service to the nation and others might not say anything. In fact, some people might back away from any imPort who quite obviously looks like they aren't from around the neighborhood. Once in a while there's a look of disdain on someone's face and hushed voices. An upset voice wonders aloud: "More of them, when we already know they can't protect us? That's just painting a bigger target on the city's back!" However, they're quickly hushed with a judgmental: "They helped save the cities, and it's the Soviets you should be angry with anyway! The imPorts are here to protect us!"

02. De Chima, Virginia, is a large city with a healthy economy, and though it's quieter, there are just as many citizens awed at your presence. Many people are out and about taking care of their regular business, but that doesn't distract them from crowding you in excitement if you're obviously from a different time or world, or just let it slip that you're a newcomer. Children and young teenagers are especially likely to ask for an autograph and a photo.

Some locals seem less enthused to see you. They never make an approach, but they can be overheard scoffing and muttering something about spies. "How can we trust any of them now?"

03. Maurtia Falls, Pennsylvania, is not as friendly and its citizens tend to go out of their way to avoid walking down the same sidewalk as the more obvious looking imPorts pass through. Local cops say nothing, but they scowl at those imPorts and mutter under their breaths resentfully about "vigilantes". However, not all locals turn the other way seeing imPorts; some of them will offer a polite enough smile and thank them for their help in overthrowing the trespassers. They don't stop to clarify what they mean, though.

04. Nonah, North Carolina, is the liveliest of all cities; loud, busy and there's some kind of energy in the air that gets everyone buzzing with excitement. Anyone who they come to determine an imPort is bombarded with all sorts of offers; job offers, advertising gigs, spokesperson for advocating children stay in school, etc. Anything and everything! You name it. Shops offer discounts for food and clothing, whatever they need. Advertisements are abound for imPorts to make appearances at various, televised celebrations, luring them in with promises of free food, merchandise, and payment.

Oh, uh -- Riku. [He didn't actually think to introduce himself.] And you're...?

We'll just have to come up with a code-name for you then, like a proper superhero. Daisy... maybe we can call you "Flower Girl" or somethin'.

[he laughs, waving a hand. He couldn't even keep a straight face through that.] - Okay, okay, before you say anything, I know that was bad. Give me a second, I'll come up with a better one. Anyway, I ran a bar back home - I know my way around idiot drunks if one of them tries to give you trouble.

[ Sixteen and they want him still in school?

Sixteen's when you learn a trade. Six just shakes his head. ]

There has to be something more useful. [ Like working for the people that shipped them here, his cynical mind supplies, because that's no doubt the aim. ] Something actually worth your damn time.

[ ...he starts to eye her glass. ]

[ Because who has time for that? Nevermind about the mask. ]

No, no, it's okay! Better than saying it out loud. We just never did the whole mindlink thing!

[Mostly because the Teen Titans have the subtlety of a car alarm and tend to barrel into situations like the large group of brightly coloured kids they are, probably while screaming, possibly while exploding. It happens.]

It's a while away, but it's better than, like, going to a diner to do this.

[Even if it's a ways away, that doesn't pose a significant roadblock for people who can fly and who have free use of the Porter. Eventually, Jaime comes to a stop a couple blocks away from his house so that he can find a nice, discreet place to power down.]

We're close by now. Um, I just need some privacy to get outta this, [he says, gesturing down at himself, because unlike his counterpart, he'd prefer not to run around naked. His preferences don't tend to stop him, but hey, when he has control over it...]

[Daisy can't help but snort at his offer to protect her. She knows she looks small and unassuming.]

03. Maurtia Falls

[Nothing says ‘new imPort’ like a young man walking around in armor with a sword sheathed at his hip. Flynn is doing his best to ignore the sidelong looks with quiet dignity--really, even in Terca Lumireis, that kind of thing wouldn’t be unexpected in plenty of cities. He thinks he’s doing pretty well until he passes too near some of the uniformed men and overhears a mutter.]

V-vigilante?

[He looks almost as indignant as he is surprised for just a moment before his expression smooths again.]

I see. This kind of perspective might be valuable, too…

[He would probably sound like he’s convincing himself a lot more successfully if he didn’t look like he’d just bit into a lemon as he says that.]

04. Nonah

[By virtue of being both polite and implacable Flynn has freed himself from the enthusiastic salespeople of every sort, though not without being forced to accept a small pile of promotional goods he can’t possibly see any use for. He’s retreated to a bench and the various samples, business cards, keychains, and pens are triaged into neat piles beside him based on his best guesses at what they are. He’s dutifully working his way through the food samples as he flips through his file and the pamphlet, but when he senses anyone looking his way he glances up with a polite smile. Surely any curious glances he’s getting are for the strange goods, not his armor or his sword or the fact that he’s sorted a pack of rather cute novelty erasers into the food pile.]

...Would you like some?

[He gestures at the piles beside him and shuts his file.]

00. Anywhere else

[Flynn will be making his rounds of all the cities wearing his conspicuous knight in shining armor getup, feel free to run into him wherever!]

[Sometimes, when everybody's turned their backs to you, it's hard to believe you're not the only person pulled here against your will.]

[She's still not used to being able to say that.]

[It's probably the eyebrows and eyelashes that would give it away, then. Unless you're super extreme and dye those, too.]

[She looks down at her file awkwardly. The outside, at least, is probably very familiar to other imPorts.]

[So? That could be anybody not from around here. But it's still nice to see folks in the same predicament as you.]

[Whew. Fuu ducks inside and looks around... not a huge amount of people, good. She turns to Sky High and smiles, giving him a polite bow.]

That's better. I'm sorry for the small deception, but it looked like you needed to be rescued from all those people. They can get quite overwhelming in this city.

[She leads him to a bar; it's not a classy joint but it's not entirely a dive, either. Somewhere right in the middle.]

[ Tactfully, Gregor doesn't remark on his lack of composure as he pulls out his comm and starts texting a few people to see who's available. ]

My troublemaker is actually shorter than him. I'm familiar with drug overdose as an issue.

Perhaps, [ he hedges. But that's a very complicated issue, and he focuses on the simple one he can answer immediately. ]

We know because people go, and forget, and come back, and remember. Or sometimes come back and don't remember, as the case may be.

[ She's not trying to pry, but she's curious. Wants to know. ]

[HEALING SKIPPED. Gregor's probably clued in to the fact that Ed has two metal limbs now, since Roy let the medic know. He is marginally more relaxed once they clear Ed, though he hasn't sat down the entire time and only isn't pacing because he can't without banging in to something. He refuses any healing for himself (and for Edward since he's not in any danger; it might have helped the sedative go a bit faster but Roy can already imagine Ed's reaction to Roy letting someone perform some completely unknown kind of technique on him. Not worth it.)]

[ If Kitty spots that little move, she says nothing about it. ]

Right, naturally. [ One brow rises just so. Well, it's probably rude to ask what that power is. Is this a 'I'll show you mind if you show me yours' kind of situation? She doesn't know if she should do that either. ]

[ She says this while looking at the door again. Casually. ]

[Karamatsu turns, expecting to be accosted by yet another advertiser...and then he has to look down to see who is actually speaking to him.

He blinks a few times, lifting a hand to lower his glasses slightly down the bridge of his nose.]

[ If it helps, her mere presence makes grown men feel like that sometimes. Adam's doing very well. Helen smiles at the natives, giving them a little wave. It's not a superpower, but somehow it causes them to disperse. At least, a little. Enough that there should be some breathing room. ]

I did, in fact. [ She crosses her arms, tapping one perfectly manicured fingernail against her sleeve. ] How long is "awhile?"

[ The emphasis she places on it is somewhat disbelieving. Sorry, Adam.

She's still 50% convinced this is the result of some kind of kidnapping plot gone wrong and she's drugged and hallucinating the whole thing. Or ate bad food. That explanation sounds a lot less ominous. ]
