AWRIGHT HERE WE GO

What Edgeworth feels towards Jesse is, primarily, distrust and dislike. When Jesse volunteered to help people at the museum fire, that went a long way towards endearing him to Edgeworth; after all, there's no path to Edgeworth's heart quicker than helping others out of kindness. But then they encountered each other after the fire, and Jesse showed what Edgeworth perceived as reckless disregard for his own safety and that of others; that, unfortunately, wrecked all that goodwill and made Edgeworth reassess Jesse not as someone who actually wants to help others, but as an adrenaline junkie at best and a masochist at worst.

And then Edgeworth found out that Violet apparently hangs around with Jesse - hence the dislike. Edgeworth already worries deeply about Violet's self-destructive impulses, and knowing she's around someone as bad as Jesse is is very deeply upsetting to him. So in his heart, he feels a deep and abiding hostility.

All that from two conversations.
