01. The city of Heropa is what one might expect from a small, bright and cheery place, where locals are friendly enough and local shop owners might offer a free drink to welcome you to their fair city. Some of the locals might thank you for always lending your service to the nation and others might not say anything. In fact, some people might back away from any imPort who quite obviously looks like they aren't from around the neighborhood. Once in a while there's a look of disdain on someone's face and hushed voices.

An upset, deeply masculine voice wonders aloud: "More of them, when we already know they can't protect us? That's just painting a bigger target on the city's back!"

"That's just what Ronald Chump says!" Exclaims a young woman. She raises her fist in anger at the imPort-hating individual. "We're not going to tolerate bigots here!"

02. De Chima, Virginia, is a large city with a healthy economy, and though it's quieter, there are just as many citizens awed at your presence. Science and technology are the lifeblood of this city, so you're likely to come across a good many locals taking your picture with the newest of devices. Be forewarned: since FanPort happened, imPort fandom is at a new height. Don't be surprised if people start following you just to see if you'll do anything TMZ-worthy.

The trick is to stay calm, and don't wig out if someone asks what you think about imPort shipping.

03. Maurtia Falls, Pennsylvania, is having a rainy day. The streets seem to be running with water, the sky can't seem to stop crying. You might want to check out some consumerism-inclined shelter, be that a smoky and dart-eyed bar full of grumbling locals, or a grimy and industrial coffee shop (full of grumbling locals). Watch your step, newly minted imPort, because if you let on that you're fresh meat then you're likely to attract a posse of two or three sharp knuckled no-good-dooers. This is the criminally exciting part of town, so beware.

04. Nonah, North Carolina, is the liveliest of all cities; loud, busy and there's some kind of energy in the air that gets everyone buzzing with excitement. There's a baseball game going on in one of the parks amidst all those tall buildings, and you're welcome to watch! It's not an official game in the season, it's more like a friendly skirmish between local baseball teams. Midway through the game, the umpire might take note of you new imPorts -- assuming you're standing out in the crowd. He'll welcome you to throw a pitch if you'd like! Of course, the opposing team isn't too keen on the idea. Better look for more imPorts to play ball!

Enlighten the ignorant. Is the purpose of talking to these animals to have pleasant conversation, or is it something else entirely?

( talking in circles – he knows several people, right off the top of his head that are great at doing that, themselves. ( though, maybe not for the sake of diplomacy so much as because it was amusing. why does he know so many brats, anyway? ) but the smile that he gives back is nothing but genuine, and it's easy enough to fall into the flow of the conversation without taking anything too seriously.

he finishes his cookie, and he's just about to take another sip of coffee when the thought of losing what he's just taken in makes him nearly choke. it's not anything too noticeable, something that simply catches in the back of his throat and has him pausing before bringing the cup to his lips, and he clears his throat just the slightest bit too loudly, almost an exaggeration. )

I appreciate that. ( and here comes a little cough. ) Really.

I'm Sam. ( he sets his coffee down, reaches to extend a hand in formal greeting. not only because it's just the way of things, but there's a lot to be told from a man's handshake, and there's something about edmund that he already, near-instantly likes. ) How have the locals been treating you?

[She's going to lead Briar around the front and slowly up the street. It's going to be a long walk. She'd apologize if it wasn't exactly what she planned and wanted.]

[The compliment makes his cheeks burn for a second, but since what he's actually a pro of is "self-deprecation", he brushes it off as undeserved and gives a little shrug.] N-no, my powers aren't from home. I had them before the last time I was here and again in the world that came before this one. Though I guess you wouldn't know about that if you're new... [The hand holding his umbrella twitches for a second as he remembers what that was like, his first arrival in another reality. He misses when things were simple, and at the same time really doesn't.] So yeah, you could say I've ran into people like that a few times. The universe never really runs out of idiots.

Oh of course you have to worry about the other hero. Why don't you actually try worrying about yourself first before other people?

Because I can't stand how disgusting you are with your attitude towards things. Oh my friends come first before my own self. [He rolls his eyes.] Ugh. Just repeating it makes me feel sick.

That's because they're important.

[Much more important than Riku, who is worth next to nothing.]

Maurtia Falls!

T'Challa didn't know who this guy was, but he was definitely good at attracting unwanted attention. T'Challa had hoped to just relax and lay low in this bar, but obviously that wasn't going to happen. He was just about to get up and jump into this, but... There was a certain calmness to this guy that was not typically how you would expect a guy about to get jumped should have.

And then he noticed the faint glow of his ring. Something that could easily be missed by most, but he spotted it. Barely , but he did. Instead of jumping in right away, he stays watching from where he is. He wants to see how this pans out.

"Yeah, but I ain't gonna worry about that just yet," Daryl answered with a one-shouldered shrug. He still had the picture and if he couldn't find him the old-fashioned way, well, maybe the flowers would lead him to the kid.

"You doing okay? Keeping yourself safe as you can?"

Anyway, it won't matter to me what the house looks like when I die, right? But I could at least respect my best friend and make things easier for him.

In that case, I expect us to have plenty of lengthy conversations. One of my specialties is medicines as well—specifically herbal remedies.

Okay. If he isn't going to worry about it just yet, then she supposes offering to help Carl would be unproductive. It would be as easy as a call or text really, though. But whatever. Rick already probably filled Daryl in on all he needed to know anyway, she guesses.

Likewise, Enid shrugs a little too. Of course she gives a thoughtful pause at his question before answering with, "Fine. I take care of myself... And stay close to where Carl and Rick are. I keep safe."

Ugh. Maybe when I finally finish you off, I'll throw you somewhere to get eaten by the wild life. Maybe the woods or a swamp. That way I won't have to hear you going on anymore.

[He sounds completely and absolutely serious.]

She tightens her hold on the dogs' leashes and tugs them back so they're not actively trying to knock Sam down again.]

[He's kidding, but even if the Replica did kill him -- they have the same instincts. Riku knows exactly how he'll end up feeling once it's over with.]

Hardly. Without you around, I'll finally show who is the better one of us two. Maybe I'll even be you only much better.

[The Replica knows he doesn't have Riku's heart, but he's willing to be better than him in every way possible.]

Alan reaches behind him and takes the vodka soda. He takes a small sip, wary green eyes taking in the three men who have approached him. Two of them are around his height - in the realm of six feet - while one's a good head shorter. They're dressed in jeans and flannel shirts. One of them clearly knows a barber, while the other two seemed as though they could be introduced to a shower stall to begin a nice, long friendship.

Alan sighed. He'd just moved here, and it had been a long, long while since he'd been in a bar brawl with anyone. Fighting the avatar of the Grey, aliens, and things like that was one thing. Fighting regular people? Something else altogether, and definitely more up the alley of someone who wasn't him.

His eyes surveyed the crowd, taking everyone in. Off to one side, he saw someone adjust themselves as if he was going to come to Alan's aid. Alan locked eyes with him and nodded briefly. At the very least, this guy could be back-up.

"That's a nice ring you got," one of them sneered. Alan blinked. Okay, this line? Sure, he'd expect it in an alleyway or something, but in a loaded bar? "Freshly imPorted, aren't you?"

"You might say that," Alan said. "You're not honestly going to try to mug me here with this many witnesses aro - okay, and you are." Alan ducked down as a punch came flying towards him. Seriously? He had literally done nothing to these guys.

This place makes Gotham City look friendly.

He came back up and looked down at his ring before pulling his fist back for a punch. He wasn't in costume. He wasn't going to risk his secret identity by using his ring's power just yet.

Of course, what he failed to see was one of the others sneaking up behind him to attack him from the back.
