[How quaint, a bat. In the blink of an eye M vaults over the leader and swings in midair, his elbow connecting with the batter's with a sharp and sickening crunch. He then pulls the bat from the falling man's grip, smashing in two over his knee, and throws the pieces at the other thugs. As there was a child present, M was merciful and made sure it was the blunt ends and not the sharp, broken edges, that hit the muggers, but the knob flies right into lackey #1's stomach, while the end cap smashes into the leader's knee. The leader falls on his bad knee while lackey #1 staggers in an attempt to remain on his feet. M spin kicks the lackey in the side of the head, then grabs the leader by the back of the neck and forces him to look up at Midnighter's cowled face.]
Wasn't that fun?
[M then turns the leader's head so he can better see his fallen friends, lackey #1 knocked out by the kick, and lackey #2 too concerned about his busted nose to have any interest in continuing the fight. Once M's satisfied the leader has seen enough, he turns the man's head towards Bruce.]
Now what do you say?
[The leader sputters as he talks, the words hard to get out but he manages.] I-I'm sorry.
[M roughly pats him on the head as if he were an obedient child and finally releases his hold.]
You boys are lucky you didn't bring an aluminum bat tonight. Imagine how you'd be feeling right now.
[With the threat finally neutralized, he finally acknowledges the tiny glutton for punishment.]

It's a little late for a stroll.
