There were better ways to go about this task -- if not using gear then grabbing them from the road, perhaps -- but, having opted for none of them, Reiner falls roughly against the ground from the momentum of his shoving, rolling out of immediate harm's way once he's able to glance up and see that the kids were indeed pushed to safety. He's battered but unbothered by the fact; mostly, he now has the opportunity to look, perplexed, in the direction the cars had sped off in.
