My old man's an abusive sadist. Did some real messed up stuff when I was a kid, and I kind of had this deep, boiling bloody anger about people who were meant to uphold the law being bloody awful. Lawyer that hurts people to blow of steam and make himself feel better? Overlooks the law for himself? Wasn't right. I became a cop because I wanted to be on the bloody... frontline of helping people. Being involved with a community of humans and helping them, and trying to keep them safe. That's what I figured the law as meant to be, or— what it could be a tool for, done right.
