I'm a mercenary. Paid private army type deal. We had to intercept some explosives and keep them from getting into the wrong hands, and things got out of control. We weren't the only people there.

That's a pretty bloody understandable reason not to, y'know. Regrettable, yeah but— fear is a people thing. Just means you can try harder not to do that same thing in the future, yeah?

I mean, if you didn't tell him because he ate your take out you were saving that'd be a little harsh, but fear is fair. You can overcome that in the future, even if you can't fix the past.
