fistofthejoestar: (falling out to go far from the soul)

[for his part, Jonathan had already encountered the 'Birds of Prey' earlier in the morning; the unsuspecting litterer they'd tried to bring to justice had been on the path to the library. with a concerned (and slightly more capable) woman sprinting after the mugger at present, he feels justified in pausing to watch the spectacle with fond amusement. the pastries in the bag clutched in his hand aren't going anywhere, after all.

the voice from one of the nearby outside tables winds up catching his attention far more than the luckless heroes ever could. it's been over a year, but he'd know the sound anywhere; how could he not, when it was so close to the one he'd grown up alongside?

he's glad for practiced self-restraint keeping the surprise off of his face. unlike the other residents of his world (or similar worlds, in this case) there was really no neat way to broach the subject of Diego having been here before - and having known Jonathan. it was a fact best kept to himself until they'd reacquainted themselves a little better.

instead he just looks over and gives a soft laugh, the sound giving him a moment to force his mind back to the present and its absurdity.]

It's much more common than people think, yes. But I don't know if anyone can really complain when they don't need a ticket to spectate.
