"I can't finish your sentences, Charles," he responds. "Nor read your mind." But he sits down with Charles, and looks him square in the eyes. "But... I know you're having a hard time adjusting to this. Believe me, it took me months to get used to the fact that we weren't in any sort of imminent danger." And then they were in fact, in some sort of imminent danger, so, that backfired.
