"Here we go again" was Lucien's first thought about the NECROMANCY?!!!?! introduction. He personally has probably gotten a whole bunch of that, because, uh. One of his primary safehouses is an abandoned, half-sunken fort, which is protected by some pretty beefy skeletons. So yeah, the Brotherhood does occasionally raise Dark Guardians and bind the souls of the damned to service, but that's not their primary thing, you know? It's like someone seeing you making pancakes for breakfast and somehow leaping to the conclusion that you run a diner. Full of skeletons.

But Lucien has an honest-to-gods Customer Service Face that he felt obliged to keep to, so he did. ...And it actually worked for once? He's used to people continuing to posture and moralize at him, which a bunch of others were in response to the advertisement. That was a pleasant surprise. He was able to clarify some misconceptions which... normally he might've let stand, back at home. But here the Brotherhood needs to reestablish its reputation, so he needs at least some people out there and spreading enough real information for others to work with.

Which is why he was honestly delighted that Merle mentioned them in his next network post, and definitely influenced his decision to join in the discussion. He's aware that the whole murder thing is hard for lots of people to work around, and it gets in the way of communicating his feelings and religious experiences to others. So having the chance to talk about both aspects to the same person? That's unheard of! Even though Merle's not connected the two, he really enjoys the experience.
