nobody's late to the tl;cr party, THAT'S HOW IT WORKS
Andy is clearly much more capable than she may particularly wish to appear, and seems like a brusque, no-nonsense and vaguely confrontational type. It's the sort of behaviour that likely throws others off, but it has Rex recognize her as someone he's a lot more used to dealing with and, frankly, someone he's a lot more comfortable dealing with than softer civilian types. She seems true to what she is, whatever that is, and it's something Rex can respect. When there's inevitably that WEIRDEST FAMILY DINNER EVER, he's going to be fairly pleased that this is who Martin and Anderson have adopted into their weird clan. One day one of them is going to introduce someone with more social skills than these chucklefucks and it's gonna be wwwwwwwild.
