I wouldn't say it's hard, exactly? Forgive me, this is going to be a long answer.

I do miss some aspects, such as the freedom that comes with standing at the helm of a ship. And when you have the opportunity, I do encourage you to go and see worlds beyond your own, since nothing I could tell you could do justice to how wildly diverse the different worlds and their peoples are.

However, in many was, I would say that this is actually far easier. For something to compare it to here, I would liken it to living on a submarine -- any damage to the ship had to be repaired while living in it, anything missing required finding a place to stop that might have the right supplies.

And even if the Castle of Lions had far more room to stretch your legs, knowing you cannot simply leave at any time makes you feel that much more cooped up. At times, I was very grateful we had things like our training deck and holodeck to help alleviate the boredom.

I should also note that in my own reality, we were in the midst of a war, and very rarely had time to visit planets for pleasure. In fact, there was a period where Zarkon pursued us very closely, even when we were using wormholes to jump across the universe -- we didn't even have time to rest! And while that was possibly one of the most harrowing points for our team, it was by far not the only time that it felt like there would be no escape from the danger closing in around us. And even if I wanted to turn back... there was no one planet to return to. Not for me.

This planet is beautiful. It's full of so many wonderful sights, and good people, and... even the food makes me proud to call it home, now. No matter how captivating the cosmos are -- and they are, beyond a doubt -- it's worlds like these that make it truly beautiful, like the gemstones of a necklace.
