“Far as I know,” he says about Bobbie. “And I’m—“ he realises what he’s about to say. Married. But it isn’t true. Not any more. “—Divorced.” Usually, when he gives information about himself, he gives too much. But he doesn’t go into that one. Instead he assumes she’s asking in relation to Bobbie. “But that don’t mean there’s anythin’ between us, just the way the world shakes out sometimes.”
