The crowd was growing thicker, not thinner, and she's wondering if these people are really so magnetized to danger and drama as she half thought. Do they really want to get in the middle of this? Are they really that stupid? She half expected from stupid paparazzi, or some sort of reporter or something, but the general populace is usually a bit smarter than this.

They take her side, though are still a bit dubious, and they are few and far between.
