I haven't been around much this month due to needing a break and then getting sick on top of that, but I figured I'd throw this up while I'm on hiatus before I start trying to catch up and do new things.

BUT ANYWAY, I've got three losers to offer you. They'll probably be familiar.



Valvatorez, the protagonist from Disgaea 4. He's a massive dork who happens to be all about camaraderie, honor, and a bunch of other undemonlike traits. Val is very fond of theatrics, often hamming it up to the point where he practically devours the scenes around him as quickly as he does the sardines he prattles on about nonstop. He's also a vampire who doesn't drink human blood, because of a promise he made 400 years ago.

Oh, and he's voiced by Troy Baker. That's probably the most important bit.



Hakumen from BlazBlue. Also known as THIS FUCKING ASSHOLE. Basically he's a huge unfunny jackass whose body happens to be the suit of armor he wears. Haku likes to prattle on about justice justice justice, but his version of justice is a bit...weird. There's a good heart deep down in there, but it's kind of hard to see since he's a massively stubborn douche.

Unlike Val, he is not voiced by Troy Baker. Dunno why I'm even considering him tbh.



Red Saber, AKA Saber Nero, AKA The Best Saber from Fate/Extra. The series is basically about summoning a bunch of famous people who may or may not have actually existed to fight by your side and win the grail. Oh, and killing the competitors. That's a thing. Super powers too. That's also a thing. Nero in particular is interesting because she's actually Nero, the fifth emperor of Rome. Checked with the mods and she is in fact appable, so I'm interested once more. Mostly because she's hilarious.

So hey I'm probably going to be apping this smooth criminal, Richard Castle from Castle, since he'll be a nice balance to Dr. Keller being a shy turtle. More enabling is always nice, and suggestions for superpowers and wacky codenames would be even better! I'm leaning toward ink and paper manipulation, but yes.

For those unfamiliar with canon, Castle is a famous mystery author who manages to worm his way into following around a police detective, on whom he bases a new character for his novels, and help her solve crimes. (Yes, suspension of disbelief is a must.) He starts off as a bit of a manchild, but is a caring, generous, intelligent and very funny man.

so, Kates here (obvs), and I'm torn between two new characters to app.

OPTION ONE: Hime Shirayuki from Happiness Charge Precure. A magical girl who's also a princess! annnnnd who is a big ol'brat and the least effective magical girl in the series. She means well! And she wants to help defeat the evil to help save her kingdom! buttt she pesters people to get what she wants, is kind of loud and obnoxious, and leans towards the abrasive. She's got super social anxiety when it comes to meeting people and made her first real friend by hitting her in the head with a magic rock. She's super big on friendship, clothes, sweet things, anything super romanticy and relationship dramaish, and strongly believes that you should not have fried chicken at a wedding, you're doing it wrong Yuko. Superpowers include turning into a magical girl (Cure Princess!) and all of the ridiculous bullshit that comes with that and super clothes-changing powers.

OPTION TWO: Dr. Whale from Once Upon a Time. Part time surgeon, part time drunk, part time lush. Whale has Very Strong opinions about science!!! and how most magic is stupid and doesn't cut it. The magic that reattaches your arm is aokay though. He's a damn good surgeon, once he got over that one episode of crippling self-doubt, and has an ego to match. He thinks he's the bees knees. And will tell you that. And hey, hella spoilers, he's also Victor Frankenstein but lost an accent, lost the guyliner and gained a whole new fake set of memories when cursed by Regina aka the Evil Queen. He has family issues out the whoa. But also likes ladies. Even to the extent of macking on other people's ladies, Whale you asshole you had to know that Gold and Belle were together, you cannot be that dense. Superpowers will probably include enhanced pain tolerance (which ought to be canon) and electricity generation (so he can bring those bodies back, yo).

Hey, you. You out there looking for a cute, fun, plot-driven video game with adorable and funny characters and a great story. You should play and/or play someone from Ghost Trick.

Ghost Trick is an obscure puzzle/adventure game that is less obscure because I scream about it to anyone who will listen. It was written and designed by Shu Takumi the guy who created Ace Attorney, so they have very similar senses of humor. It's available for Nintendo DS, iOS, or in LP form.

The plot: you just got murdered. You also lost your memory and have no idea who you are or why you died. Now you have one night left on Earth as a ghost to solve your own murder.

Unfortunately, people start dying around you left and right. But conveniently, you have the power to turn back time and undo other people's deaths. Most of the gameplay involves using your ghost powers to prevent other people from dying by gunshots, heart attacks, or getting crushed by 2-ton plaster chickens.

All that, and it's a complete mindscrew, too!

Everybody's favorite ghost dick Yomiel is the villain-of-sorts, but that leaves a whole cast full of detectives, inspectors, and sentient housepets to enjoy. I'd love to see literally anyone. And I'd also love for more people to enjoy this underrated gem of a game whether or not they're interested in rping from it.

Ghost Trick. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You won't take death nearly as seriously as you should.
