01. Your memory is hazy and you might feel increasingly frustrated or anxious, or maybe you're excited as soldiers march past, barely glimpsing you. One second you're somewhere underground, the next you're enveloped in blue light, and suddenly you find yourself directly under Flordia sun's bright and burning glare. A female soldier steps toward you with a wide smile on her face and directs you to a car, ready to debrief you. You realize you are not the only one, surrounded by equally confused or eager faces... and you're all sporting a digital tattoo on your wrist.

02. Welcome to Cape Canaveral, where the smell of the ocean is in the air and locals are more than pleased to see new imPorts roaming their streets. They wave, they cheer, they ask for pictures as politely as they can. The more inhuman you look, or if you're wearing a costume, the more likely locals are to approach. Hey, enjoy the moment! The popular malt shop is offering you a free drink if you need it.

03. The technology in this world is certainly something. The cars are clearly modeled after popular 50s cars, but they hover several feet above the ground as they drive down the street. There are digital jukeboxes in restaurants, motorcycles also hover through traffic, advertisements can be seen on a digital projector on the taller buildings. Even kids on skateboards appear to drift a safe ten feet off the ground while playing!

04. Wherever you are, you can hear the loud revving of an engine, distance at first before you finally see it: a hovercar bursting around the corner, going beyond the maximum speed limit and just barely making its sharp turn. It doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon, not with two police cars trailing it... and uh oh. Those skateboarding kids don't have much time to get out of the way as the car comes speeding down the road. You've been brought here for a reason Hero — so you better act fast.

[ She gives him a weird look, but- well, I mean. He does have a bit of a point. And if she stops ignoring the ache in her belly, she can probably admit that he's even right. Although that weird look morphs into a cocked eyebrow and quirked mouth because yes, yes it does make him sound more like her father, good job!

But he's turning her away and honestly he's probably rightfully ... in the right. But that doesn't necessarily mean she wants to listen. The exasperation is almost melting out of her- until he leaves her with that finishing line. With or without the soothing stroke to her arm, she still ends up looking both put out and highly confused. ]

Why not? I mean- not for you, obviously. But I'm not-- People don't know we're friends.

[ She's speaking hush hush as well, at least. But that's what this is about, isn't it? His vampire status? ]

[At least this has briefly ceased the father comparisons, thank God for that. But her question is a good one, even if it sets him a little on edge. Being careless about eating too much, that's because she's so excited about being human again. And she should be. Yay, Annie! --But when he thinks that, it comes out in a flatly hysterical George tone of voice, yaaay Annie, conveying that there's very little to yay about at all.

Unfair. There is a lot. And he's happy for her, really, he is--but--]

It's not just about me. And it's not about-- look, I don't care about people knowing that we're friends. That's not what this is about. [Thank God, again, that she didn't just blurt out vampire--not that he doesn't trust her, but because she might just forget that people can actually hear her.] This place, the kinds of things that go on here-- it's not all bad. But it's better t' just keep to yourself and don't attract attention. 'Woman Shuts Down Local Ice-Cream Parlor', that's definitely the kind of thing that's going t' make headlines.

[And in case she questions that, he explains:] Florida is very boring. Just-- be careful, all right?
