aww yeah it's question meme time
Time to bring back one of my old faves...

Simple and easy! Here's how it goes:
1. POST a top-level with your character name
2. REPLY to other people's top-level with a question for that character
3. ANSWER the question you were asked
4. ASK a question of that person's characters in return!
We go back and forth like this asking questions in a thread until one or both of us runs out of questions!
QUESTIONS CAN BE ANYTHING. Serious or silly as you want! What does Jane think of (x)? What does Sarah have for breakfast? How many times a day does Alex masturbate? What's Tom's dream job? The only limit for questions is your imagination.
Replies can be as monosyllabic or as tl;dr are you want; it's up to you. Go wild kids!

He would've watched AoS before meeting Skye, for sure, but not now that he knows her and knows it's her life story. Like, the idea that someone might see his life laid out like that is so viscerally horrifying to him that he wouldn't breach her privacy. If he'd ever had a chance to see it before, though, I think he would've been a fan. I mean, he's a Marvel fan in general, so...
Now I have to ask: what would Skye think if she saw Breaking Bad?
no subject
As for the answer to that! I think if she'd seen BrBa before coming to MoM... I can't decide if she'd be a fan or not. I think ultimately she'd probably be the same kind of fan of it that I am-- put off watching it for ages or watched one episode and decided she didn't like it because UGH SO MUCH WHITE DUDE MAN PAIN. But then if she ever did finally watch it she would enjoy it a lot and hate her self simultaneously for enjoying it and hate Walter White with a passion.
As for if she got the chance to watch it in MoM... hhhhmmm. Skye is equally nosy as she is concerned about privacy. Presuming it happened after she found out about his being in the drug business (because before is a whole different can of worms), I want to say she'd probably very guiltily watch until the end of season 2 and then she'd be super horrified and realise she shouldn't be doing this and stop.
:')...
(Although she would probably then go to Jesse and ask him what happened to Walter in the end because SHE NEEDS TO KNOW IF HE GOT HIS COMEUPPANCE OR NOT, THAT RAT BASTARD.)
What does Jesse most like and dislike about Skye? Since it got tossed my way in another thread for Skye->Jesse and it was a good question.
no subject
Of course, none of that is conscious thought on his part. That general feeling manifests in his sense of inadequacy and his paranoia. It really brings out the worst in him, despite it being the reason he's so enthralled by her. But it all comes down to his feeling that he wants to be a good man for her - and he knows he isn't.
However, Jesse thinks his love is a lot simpler than all that. She's beautiful and funny and snarky and a little naughty and enough of a nerd that he doesn't feel embarrassed about nerding out with her. How could he not fall in love with her?
The stuff he dislikes about her is all his fault, really, and he knows it. If he was a normal person, it wouldn't be a problem that she was snooping around without warning him or that she's not sympathetic to criminal activity. What he really dislikes is that they ultimately can't be together. When she does that stuff, it's a cold reminder.
How does Skye envision their future?
no subject
She doesn't, basically, is the answer to that one. Skye's very aware of the fact that they're all here only temporarily and eventually, one day, their number will come up. One of them will go home. And then the other. And they'll forget everything about MoM and each other, it'll be like it never happened.
Which is really too depressing to think about, so she just... doesn't. Or rather, tries her best not to. It weighs on her mind, so she tries to put it out of mind as much as possible. She doesn't see the point in worrying about it, much less thinking about their future together. She just wants to enjoy the here and now.
If someone in MoM said they could fix the porter so that people who stayed here wanted to stay here (although that would open a whole different can of worms) or fix it so that they could retain their memories on being transported back and also choose which universe they go back to... THEN she would possibly start to let herself think of something. But as it is, she currently just won't let herself, full stop.
What did kid Jesse want to be when he grew up?
no subject
Kid Jesse wanted to grow up to be a superhero. Failing that, he wanted to draw superheroes.
So I guess his first wish came true. Good for him. Too bad about how the reality of that sucks major balls and also it comes too late to have spared him a life of villainy.
I think he also might have settled for being a rock star, but only if the other two didn't pan out.
Basically what I'm saying here is that Jesse was born to be a loser.
What about kid Skye?
no subject
As she got older and her grades started falling (and we still don't know why but I feel like it's probably a good guess because she was fed up and frustrated with always being moved around and feeling like adults didn't care about her and nothing she did mattered) she probably stopped having dreams about the future when she began to think that literally nobody cared about her.
Also I'm going to be mean and riff on Fudgey's question for this one. What would Jesse do if JANE showed up? Bonus round: what would Jesse do if Jane AND Andrea+Brock showed up?
no subject
Okay but before letting himself spiral into a sobbing freakout he'd make sure she's okay. Like, does she need to be healed? Is she having withdrawal symptoms? He'd take care of all that stuff and then probably drive her straight to the nicest rehab facility in Florida. He'd have to lie to her about it, too, because he knows she'd flip her shit. So he'd just be like, "Okay, let's go to my place," and take her there instead. And she'd be really mad at him maybe but he hopes she'd go in for treatment once they were actually there.
And then he'd never talk to her again and basically be a check in the mail L M F A O.
It's Jane, though, so who are we kidding? She'd probably track him down once she was released from rehab and guilt him into letting her stay and then she'd weasel her way into his business and we'd have a new kingpin in town and her name is Jane Margolis. And Jesse, being the sucker that he is, would let it happen because he owes her and she is the love of his life.
The answer is pretty much the same re: Andrea and Brock. He's not romantically interested in Andrea anymore, the dream of his perfect family is already shattered, and the priority there is just keeping them safe. I don't think he would tell Jane about them.
If Skye found out she was something inherently evil, would that change her perception of evil in general? Raina seemed to think so, or at least using that as a carrot for Ward. But what do you think?
no subject
And HAHAHA HMMM GOODDDD QUESTION.
One of my BIGGEST pings for lady character types is ladies who walk the line between dark and light, who are ultimately good but struggle a lot with their inner darkness (Cassie Blake, Matou Sakura, etc). THAT SAID... the way Skye's developing in the show now, I don't think she's going in that direction. It wouldn't match up, on a meta-textual level. For starters, characters of that type usually need to have led fairly terrible lives and be pushed right to the brink before they break and give in and go dark. Skye... well. Yeah, her life has been kinda shitty but I wouldn't describe it as rage-inducingly awful. Not to mention, Skye has mostly come to terms with it now. She still has ~orphan angst~ but 1x12 (where she found out that she wasn't shunted around because of not being wanted) pretty thoroughly tied up her "nobody loves me" angst. So it would have to take something (or several somethings) pretty fucking dramatic to push her to the edge at this point.
Not only that, but Skye is super stubborn, and super committed to her cause. I think if someone told her that she was inherently evil, no matter what she found out, she would just tell them to go fuck themselves. She's not really a malleable teenager anymore; she's grown up on her own for so long that her sense of self and self-independence is really high. She knows who she is inside even if she doesn't know what she is. I don't think it would change her perception of evil, because at this point she's pretty firmly established in her belief system.
Basically I think Ward's desperate and delusional, and Raina played right into that. Either that or Raina doesn't know people as well as she thinks.
If Skye was able to make a power null for Jesse, what would happen...
no subject
First off, he doesn't want Skye - of all people - to see him that way. He's ashamed of being an addict, and she'd be his first serious girlfriend who isn't an addict. So if she saw him like that, all twitchy and tweaked out, he knows he wouldn't be able to face her again. Drugs will never give him the same comfort she gives, so why would he give her up for them?
And his life in general has seen a vast improvement since he's been clean. He has difficulty coping with stress, but he also hasn't spiraled out of control. Business-wise, he's more on top of things than he ever was, which he surely has to attribute to his sobriety (because it couldn't be that Walter White was a really fucking terrible business partner and anyone would be better off without him). But also, just... People like him? They talk to him like he's a person? Sometimes they even respect him? And they show up to his birthday party? This is major stuff. He hasn't been treated like this before in his adult life.
So basically no, thanks to anything that might destabilize him. He might be numb to most of life's pleasures now but at least people love him.
What if Skye is Ms. Marvel???
no subject
HA HA HA HA GOSH my least favourite theory. Okay no, "What if Skye is Jessica Drew" is my least favourite, with Ms. Marvel being a close second. Just because they're both so popular yet both SO UNLIKELY. I just don't think it's plausible for her to be any kind of known superhero for several meta-textual reasons. The first being that it's an ensemble show, and once you make ONE of the characters a superhero, it becomes THEIR show and everyone else becomes their sidekick. That's not the show they're making. The second even more meta reason is because AOS is also slated to come out in the 616 universe as a comics line in December, in which case Skye cannot possibly be an already established character in the 616, and the 616 just got a new Ms. Marvel, they aren't going to introduce another one. So she has to be a new character, though I will grant it is highly likely that she's related to an already established 616 character, just because that's a good way to tie her in to drama without making her an already-known character.
THEORIZING ASIDE, THOUGH. To answer your actual question, what if Skye is Ms. Marvel?
First of all, I would eat my straw hat. Then I guess I would celebrate because holy fuck my girl's a superhero HOW COOL IS THAT.
But to be honest I can't really picture the "what if" scenario because it's so far removed from anything I see the show as being likely to do. I can't... picture Skye as a superhero... like, okay, if anything I guess she would probably be Peter Parker-esque about it? Smack talk the bad guys 24/7, fight for the underdogs of the world, etc. Y...eah...
Also I've run out of questions so you should tell me if there's anything else you want to be asked or that you want to ask me before we stop lmao /CHEATS AT OWN MEME

COME BACK THREE DAYS LATER
(never go full villain)
no subject
So how I see that playing out in MoM is... Everyone finds out what he's been doing and there's no pretending otherwise. Maybe he does some jailtime or maybe he's on house arrest or maybe he's too good to get sentenced but it's obvious and he's now a pariah. Whatever happens, he can't keep pretending he's a decent citizen.
So he doesn't try. He embraces the villain label. It matches his self-image, anyway, and god knows he's not going to go around making excuses for his behavior. It'd start with that kind of "So what?" attitude. Like, "Yeah, I'm a bad guy. Now you know. Always have been and always will be. Now watch me do all the stuff you expect bad guys to do." He'd be an asshole on purpose. Not necessarily more violent but more callous and cruel. Mocking people for ever having believed in him. You know how it is. It's his way of daring them to put him down, because he's suicidal but he can't pull the trigger himself.
Since he probably won't actually end up in the electric chair, it only escalates from there. He has nowhere to go but further into the darkness, so he'd steer into it. And he's already killed people now, so if the situation dictates - or if whoever's pulling his strings gives the order - then what's a few more? What is there for him but to act as the monster people say he is?
