aww yeah it's question meme time

Time to bring back one of my old faves...

the QUESTION meme

Simple and easy! Here's how it goes:

1. POST a top-level with your character name

2. REPLY to other people's top-level with a question for that character

3. ANSWER the question you were asked

4. ASK a question of that person's characters in return!

We go back and forth like this asking questions in a thread until one or both of us runs out of questions!

QUESTIONS CAN BE ANYTHING. Serious or silly as you want! What does Jane think of (x)? What does Sarah have for breakfast? How many times a day does Alex masturbate? What's Tom's dream job? The only limit for questions is your imagination.

Replies can be as monosyllabic or as tl;dr are you want; it's up to you. Go wild kids!

kara why dont you like feelings :(
valr: (now imagine it isn't)

[personal profile] valr 2014-10-16 11:51 am (UTC)(link)
because feelings hurt :C

literally what it boils down to is that. like also she isn't quite of the belief that ~feelings make you weak~ but she thinks they make a mess of things because people are messy. and she's too old to deal with that shit anymore.

but feelings do hurt and she'd rather just avoid them altogether than risk all the gross messy stuff happening

and this is why she's an alcoholic

I FORGOT YOU HAD TO DO QUESTIONS

if loki could decide not to go back to his world, would he stay in MoM?

THAT DEPENDS very heavily on circumstance. when he first arrived he did not want to go back, but there's a particular draw that Asgard offers while simultaneously rejecting him at the same time. here, let's have a little loki sotu and this will make more sense. here, a short history of loki:

  • insert ragnarok cycle and insane shenanigans for like centuries. he stepped into the role of being not just the god of chaos, but also the god of evil. gods themselves have to be careful of the roles they step into, because they're narratives imposed on reality. so he basically dug himself a neat little evil hole and sat in it.

  • in order to "remake" himself from the predictable unpredictable chaotic entity he was (as the ragnarok cycle was over, and i'm guessing that he felt a bit of a punch from that), he devised this insanely huge and convoluted plan where he wrote himself out of the book of the dead, was no longer bound to hel/valhalla, and then completely destroyed asgard (which was on midgard at the time) with the help of the void (thanks bob) before basically trying to save it and getting blown up by bob. everyone was like wtf ???? and kind of happy he was gone.

  • since he got destroyed he was basically floating in the limbo of the universe, hiding under the cracks. he got reborn into kid loki!!! and kid loki was adorable and tried very hard to make everything better and whatever while still being his sneaky little self. and he succeeded!!!

  • but then the old loki who had copied his personality/memories and basically ... erased his kid self and took his body and role. so loki killed loki with loki. this is, imho, the biggest instance of his self-imposed self-destructive behaviors. whoops.

  • so the loki that had been used as the weapon (this loki) walked around for a year trying to find himself, really? he was an old personality with a fair amount of dissonance in conflict with a role and body that didn't fall in sync. so instead of trying to play who he was in a new role, he decided that he was going to be the loki that he is currently. phew!!! the other self that he destroyed (kid loki) to become who he was (this loki) basically haunted the crap out of him (even though it was him) due to his massive guilt (there's a lot of about physical manifestations of reality that he unintentionally imposed at the time). he still has a lot of that guilt, but there are some terms that he's come to in the mean time. he resolved to be the best narrative that he could be, and not to fall into those patterns again.

  • but things are hard for loki!!!!!!!

  • the all-mother brought a loki from the future to play the role of the villain in the future and make sure that that particular future came to pass. since it was stability in an unstable narrative for the asgardians themselves. there was no more ragnarok, no more patterns, and their future was a free future? yeah, but no one wants a free future but loki. so they forced the old role back on him, so he's desperately fighting against not only the person that the universal cycle and patterns want him to be, but he's standing up defiantly against fate and trying to define himself as himself and who he is against who everyone wants him to be, even if that secures their future. (it's the bad kind of future.)

That said, in MoM he doesn't have the same kind of weight pulling him down as he does in his own world right now. and I think while that is still his "home" and the place that he's going to return, because he definitely wants to fight that one out, he doesn't mind being in this world? aside from being a distraction, it really gives him an opportunity to define himself without everyone telling him who he should be. so, he's debated it. he doesn't want to stay but he doesn't want to go back yet.

this probably puts a lot of our threads in context, too.

SO HEY KARA WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE DRINK AND YOUR TYPE?
valr: (where you learn things)

[personal profile] valr 2014-10-18 08:44 am (UTC)(link)
MEAD

if that isn't available: beer with a shot in it, so irish car bombs, boilermakers, sake bombs, that sort of horrible thing.

her type is fighters, but narrowing it down even more would be "hot people who don't talk too much" so the strong silent type. and she tends to be drawn towards kind of broken people because then she doesn't have to feel weird about how fucked up she is (looks @ jesse). except occasionally she has a weakness for bright, bubbly people but we don't talk about that.

LOKI WHY DO YOU STILL WEAR THE STUPID HORNS
selfimage: — ɢᴀʀʙᴇᴛᴛ — (Come and buy my toys.)

[personal profile] selfimage 2014-10-18 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
careful he might set you up.

because it's tradition that sort of ties him in. while there are times that he is angry at his parents and angry at asgard and dumbfounded of their simple thinking—he is still an asgardian. that's still his home, and that's still his family.

so the horns are tradition of asgard and tradition of loki.

kara, DID YOU HAVE A HORSE???
valr: (you know this)

[personal profile] valr 2014-10-19 10:44 am (UTC)(link)
she'd be surprisingly okay with that as long as it was for sex and not like. trying to set up a relationship

loki they're so dumb tho

SHE DID AND IT WAS NAMED BUTTERCUP

no that last bit was a lie but she definitely would have! a fancy asgardian horse that she was bros with and that she left in asgard when it closed because she couldn't make her poor horse leave its home and now she misses it. that horse is probably still there, waiting. sad immortal horse.

is loki happy with the people in MoM who are from his world or would he rather different people?

that's a sad story about a girl and her horse.

UM

yes and no. loki's so capricious that who he wants in mom really depends on his mood. he's both thankful and fussed that thor isn't there. he misses thor a lot tbh. he's also still a little nervous about being whisked back into the young avengers, he left because he had a very "i have to save you guys from myself you're my only friends!!!" so there are a lot of times where he feels like he just wants to run off again and he has to legitimately stop himself.

he'll be even more fussy when he comes back and thor is unworthy.

this bodes ill

are there any norse myths that kara absolutely knows are made up by mortals?
