aww yeah it's question meme time

Time to bring back one of my old faves...

the QUESTION meme

Simple and easy! Here's how it goes:

1. POST a top-level with your character name

2. REPLY to other people's top-level with a question for that character

3. ANSWER the question you were asked

4. ASK a question of that person's characters in return!

We go back and forth like this asking questions in a thread until one or both of us runs out of questions!

QUESTIONS CAN BE ANYTHING. Serious or silly as you want! What does Jane think of (x)? What does Sarah have for breakfast? How many times a day does Alex masturbate? What's Tom's dream job? The only limit for questions is your imagination.

Replies can be as monosyllabic or as tl;dr are you want; it's up to you. Go wild kids!

SO assuming this is Minato's first time in America, is there one thing that surprised him the most about actually living in the place? Is there anything he loves or hates about it? If he could fuck off and live in alternate universe!wherever he's from I forget would he do that instead?

THIS IS A HARD QUESTION because I've never known anything but America buuuuut taking into consideration what I was surprised about when visiting Japan...

I think Minato, growing up, never thought much about anywhere outside of where he was at the moment. I don't think he moved around a lot, probably stayed in one place with some relatives after his parents died, but I think as far as he was concerned he was there because that was where he was placed. This uncle and aunt got custody of him and he'll stay there until they tell him to leave. Same with Iwatodai at first, where he moved back to when he got accepted at Gekkoukan... I actually forget why he went back in the first place or if that was actually really touched on in canon but he went there because he didn't have a reason not to, I think.

THAT SAID, because of that, he never thought too much about what things are like elsewhere, or how things could be different from how they are. He adapted to the lifestyle of the cities he's placed in, and since he wasn't anywhere else, it didn't matter to think about it. I think though he's probably gathered some stereotypical knowledge of it from movies that were popularized in Japan (especially since he watched films a lot during the game) so I think he was probably surprised especially by like. Why is it so hard to find convenience stores and food here. There are so little vending machines he's thirsty but he has to go into stores most of the time. There's also less public transportation?!

That said, even if he could find alternate universe Iwatodai where he's from, I think he will stay in this America because that's where Shinjiro and Akihiko are, for now, and where he first ended up. He's not as attached to the places as he is to the people from the places, so even if he found Iwatodai, if the friends he had from home aren't there or don't know him, there wouldn't be a point in going. :'|

Ahahah this answer makes a lot of sense for Minato. (And Iwatodai! THAT'S WHAT IT WAS CALLED.)

...and like Sooz, +1ing terrible public transit.
