aww yeah it's question meme time
Time to bring back one of my old faves...

Simple and easy! Here's how it goes:
1. POST a top-level with your character name
2. REPLY to other people's top-level with a question for that character
3. ANSWER the question you were asked
4. ASK a question of that person's characters in return!
We go back and forth like this asking questions in a thread until one or both of us runs out of questions!
QUESTIONS CAN BE ANYTHING. Serious or silly as you want! What does Jane think of (x)? What does Sarah have for breakfast? How many times a day does Alex masturbate? What's Tom's dream job? The only limit for questions is your imagination.
Replies can be as monosyllabic or as tl;dr are you want; it's up to you. Go wild kids!

Like it's weird and awkward but not in a bad way? And he's-- still not entirely sure how different things are from before, because you can't exactly quantify relationships. They're still bffs and bros before anything else- still concerned about one another, still give each other shit when it's called for. Dumb fights, dumb bickering, dumb punching back and forth. It's just as though any sort of boundaries have been pulled back? (or... ANYWAY THERE ARE LESS OF THEM.) Not that they had many before, of course- but hey whatever.
It's weird because most every aspect of things they've dealt with before. Lived together before. hell, likely even shared a room before when they were younger (Especially in the months after the fire, I'm assuming the orphanage they lived in kind of HAD TO FIND A PLACE TO SHOVE THESE SURVIVING KIDS?? sry have fun double bunking). So none of that stuff that's typically new to people in relationships is... new, lmao.
basically there's more touching and that's it. AND NOT EVEN A WHOLE LOT because they're fucking dumb teenagers and can't seem to get around to actually getting laid. but. One... day??
So of course he likes being able to look after someone and give them hell and hates when Akihiko nags at him or leaves gritty-ass protein bullshit all over the damn desk jesus how did you even spill this much but it's nothing he's unused to dealing with.
Basically they've always been married and are only just now realizing it, whoop whoop.
He does kind of hate having such an off sleeping schedule from Akihiko, though, since that means they're pretty much constantly waking each other up. Shinji gets up at like 4 in the morning to go train with Annie, so by the time he gets through school and work and feeding himself while half-assed doing homework he's passing the fuck out crazy early, whereas Akihiko stays out training and boxing and trying to find leads to go pro later on into the night.
oh and he's learned that making out is awesome. :Tb
So, is Jaime still HEROING IT UP? What is his opinion on the recent shifts in attitude towards imPorts? Does it faze him at all? ANY STRONG OPINIONS? What's going on in those regards?
no subject
Jaime is absolutely still heroing it up (something he'll have to... tell shinji one day instead of being like lol yeah I have a megaman arm okay let's never talk about this ever again) on a very regular basis! And OH GOSH not to tl;dr on you, but he has a lot of thoughts on the attitude towards imPorts, and not only the recent shift. The Xavier school worries him. Separation worries him, because he thinks that they're treated like objects instead of people, and it's very, very easy for the public to turn on objects, especially if they're expensive objects. He wants all imPorts to be treated with respect and dignity regardless of their registration status, and that includes giving children who cannot legally work the assistance they need, for voting to be all or nothing, and ideally, for them to be able to apply for passports. HE HAS A LOT OF THOUGHTS and he seldom voices them, and only to specific people. It's kind of funny how many plots he technically has his fingers dipped into, because... nobody actually knows what he's doing...
The two big things being passing on information on government cover-ups to Clark Kent as a Responsible Journalist and hassling Space Dads for more info on spies while NOSING AROUND EVERYWHERE. I'm p sure the only reason he doesn't tell this shit to people who already know he's the blue beetle is bc he never actually thinks it's relevant to bring up. At any rate, he'd strongly consider unregistering, but he's not so sure about his work prospects as a sixteen year old unregistered imPort high school dropout, and would mourn the loss of the extra pieces of information Registered imPorts are afforded (something that he also has an issue with).
tl;dr he is infinitely more politically informed than anyone actually knows and he is Not Happy about the current state of affairs. He is keeping notes on everything.
Does Shinji wish he had a different power? What would he choose if he had the option to change it up?
no subject
Honestly? He's pretty ambivalent towards his power, if only because he's so rarely had a practical use for it- since he doesn't hero it up and the like. So far the most he's really used it (aside from showing it off, or erasing the need for a shredder at home, or making a jug of milk last as long as he damn well wants it too-) is in THE SUMMER GAMES and... yeah, he still hasn't exactly talked to anyone about how he completely rotted through someone's arm.
And rotting flesh smells horrible.
He is glad that he doesn't have his Persona- though a part of him is kind of curious on if he would still have issues with Castor (since he's kind of grown up some here in MoM, and gotten a smidgen more confidence--) but it's still nothing he'd be comfortable risking. He mostly misses the passive skills Castor gave him, most notably the enhanced strength, and Regen and High-Counter because jesus christ bouncing off 50% of all physical blows is insane.
The only time he thinks about other powers is if he sees super useful ones- like the people who can teleport. That's awesome because as stated all over this meme, he gets to annoyed with the US's public transit systems and how many he has to bounce through just to get to work or the store or whatever.
why is the grocery store so far away ugh this is the worst.
If he had to change it, he'd likely go for something that he'd be able to use practically like that- teleporting or telekinesis or something because hey wow think of all the uses.
But he's also content being a normal person so /SHRUG.
JAIME- If he had the option to ditch the scarab and have a normal life as though it had never happened: would he? Even if he was assured that things would be taken care of and be no worse for wear if he did so?
no subject
And oh my god I remember reading about that... rotting off someone's arm is SO TERRIBLE and I was completely unsurprised to see it hahah. Teleportation would be a wise choice (and my own personal choice) because it would just up convenience SO MUCH
And no, absolutely not! At this point, asking him if he'd want to be rid of the Scarab is like going up to him and asking him if he wants to chop off his own arm. I don't write about it a lot, but having the Scaab has unalterably changed the way he sees and experiences the world, not only from a mental and emotional standpoint, but a physical one; he can speak to machines, he smells electricity, and if he squints, he can see the world through infrared. It was weird at first, but at this point, having it removed would be a super jarring experience.
That, and the Scarab is his partner! He'll bitch about it, but the truth of the matter is that he adores it. He's basically had his invisible friend around him 24/7 for the past year, and not having it around would be impossibly lonely. No matter what, he's never alone, which is nightmare fuel for some, but weirdly reassuring for Jaime. That, and he likes his powers and likes being the Blue Beetle. Carrying on a legacy of altruism brings him a sense of fulfillment he would have never gotten otherwise, and it's introduced him to a new world of really spectacular people he loves and respects. There's a lot of downsides to it, of course - he's really worried about being made into a weapon, he's had the weight of people's lives (and yes, deaths) on his shoulders, he hates making his loved ones fear for his life, and he knows that he's probably going to die young... but he'll deal.
tl;dr Jaime is the one guy who really, really did not want to become a superhero, but now that he is, he really loves it.
If the government put their foot down and said that everyone had to go out and do their superhero thing, and that they had to do it traditionally, what would Shinji's costume look like? What would he go by? HOW WOULD HIS BANTER BE
