the QUESTION meme

Simple and easy! Here's how it goes:

1. POST a top-level with your character name

2. REPLY to other people's top-level with a question for that character

3. ANSWER the question you were asked

4. ASK a question of that person's characters in return!

We go back and forth like this asking questions in a thread until one or both of us runs out of questions!

QUESTIONS CAN BE ANYTHING. Serious or silly as you want! What does Jane think of (x)? What does Sarah have for breakfast? How many times a day does Alex masturbate? What's Tom's dream job? The only limit for questions is your imagination.

Replies can be as monosyllabic or as tl;dr are you want; it's up to you. Go wild kids!

Okay so, the thing about Bart's bffness with Jaime is that its kind of one sided??? And he knows that and just sort of shrugs about it because Bart never had friends before so he'll take what he can get. But. Yeah, back home Jaime's bff's with Ty, has been friends with the Team for way longer, and he and Bart are just, y'know, kinda good friends? But Bart actually does feel a little uh- bad. About not noticing that Jaime was all Reach controlled and that he just totally believed him when he saw Green Beetle shoving his fingers all up in Blue's scarab.

So there's... that. And there's the fact that comics!Jaime has been his friend here in Heropa for just as long as non Reach controlled Jaime has, and will eventually have been his friend for longer and it's- it's really weird.

He'd be happy to see the Jaime who's a little snappier and sarcastic with him and was a part of the things Bart went through back in his universe but it's also- he doesn't know. They're both his friends (and he'd consider them his best friends tbh) and they're both similar but they're both different, too. And he really doesn't know.

If he could have both yj!jaime and comics!jaime to hang out with in heropa it would be the actual best thing ever. If yj!jaime showed up and comics!jaime was gone? He'd be happy to see a him who knew him at least a little back before getting alternate dimension-napped, b u t. He'd also miss comics!jaime and it'd be horrible because he'd know he would... never actually see that version of him again.

It's all weird and horrible and Bart would honestly never be 100% happy about any situation that didn't involve everyone he's friends with being in the same place s-sob.

Thinking about how when they inevitably go home they'll likely never see each other ever again is so sad. BUT YES this is a good, interesting answer - it must be such a weird thing to juggle for Bart, especially bc they are so, so similar but also so, so different.

And oh my god HE WOULD JUDGE SO MUCH BC HE IS COMPLETELY OPEN WITH THE SCARAB IN FRONT OF BART I cannot wait for that reveal to happen. Why do you all just assume I talk to myself?? DO YOU ALL THINK I'M CRAZY????

...and what will Bart think of the Scarab anyway? bc that's going to be a weird as hell revelation to come across this late in the game

OKAY LOOK HE DOESN'T THINK JAIME TALKS TO HIMSELF HE THINKS HE'S TALKING TO HIM EVEN IF IT SEEMS OUT OF NOWHERE but then again Bart does that too kinda. Just. Switches topics randomly because he tries to talk as fast as he thinks. SO HE'S USED TO IT? IT SEEMS NORMAL???

.... but. Bart will uh. He might actually not react all that well at first when he finds out he Scarab is a sentient thing. It'd probably be one of two times Bart ever actually feels scared of Jaime (the second being whenever big and steroid-y happens) and he'd probably actually look a little panicked because l-lol

It's one thing to know that the Scarab is a piece of technology that the Reach can use to reprogram his friend. It's another thing entirely to learn that the technology has the capability of thinking for itself. Because. That means, without the whole NO HE'S NOT 100% HOMICIDAL ANYMORE I SWEAR, there's always a voice Bart assumes is the Reach talking to Jaime no matter how much they try to do to stop everything and-

... yeah honestly Bart will probably bolt and avoid Jaime for a while when the beans are spilled, as stupid and "everyone knows but you bart, gosh" as it is. s-sorry hermano


At this point in the game, if Jaime could safely remove the Scarab, would he?

I HAD A FEELING because that makes perfect sense but omg that will make Jaime so sad... as will Bart's reaction whenever we get that opportunity for steroid Beetle to happen which I want because I'm terrible. I think that more people should honestly be scared of it, and scared of Jaime! It is a very reasonable reaction, all things considered - especially because, realistically speaking, the Scarab could probably still take over if it really, really wanted to. He has a voice in his head that wanted to take over the world, has access to nukes, and who talks to him every morning when he wakes up, and every night before he goes to sleep. This is a very legitimate thing to feel a little iffy about... and that's not even including the fact that Jaime feels what the Scarab does, and vice versa.

And no, he absolutely would not remove the Scarab. In fact, if the Scarab did get removed, he would mourn the loss of Khaji Da a million times more than the loss of the Scarab - as far as he's concerned, he and Khaji are partners, and friends. Contrary to its nature, Khaji is actually the first one to refer to them as friends - it actually tells Jaime straight up that he's its first friend, and that it's willing to die beside Jaime for what's right. One day, he'll run into a power null, and he'll be freaking out the most because he can't hear what has become his constant companion for the past year.

RAMBLING A LITTLE but the beginning of Jaime's arc and the end of Jaime's arc is paralleled - in the beginning, he was terrified because he was going to die alone in space. In the end, he was close to dying in space again, but he wasn't afraid, in part because he wasn't alone, and never will be again... which is probably nightmare fuel for everyone besides Jaime. They bicker constantly, and Jaime wishes for some privacy, but he wouldn't give Khaji away for all the money in the world. Khaji's ensured that he's not quite human anymore, but he loves his little scarab buddy. :c

INVITING YOU TO TL;DR AGAIN what are Bart's thoughts on media? By which I mean music/movies/tv/video games - I know he couldn't have had much exposure to them in the past which means TOTAL BLANK SLATE on all opinions on everything
