Time to bring back one of my old faves...

the QUESTION meme

Simple and easy! Here's how it goes:

1. POST a top-level with your character name

2. REPLY to other people's top-level with a question for that character

3. ANSWER the question you were asked

4. ASK a question of that person's characters in return!

We go back and forth like this asking questions in a thread until one or both of us runs out of questions!

QUESTIONS CAN BE ANYTHING. Serious or silly as you want! What does Jane think of (x)? What does Sarah have for breakfast? How many times a day does Alex masturbate? What's Tom's dream job? The only limit for questions is your imagination.

Replies can be as monosyllabic or as tl;dr are you want; it's up to you. Go wild kids!

HAHA... HA... not great.

He's trying his best to keep his spirits up, but he's swamped. His investigations keep turning up dead ends, he keeps getting worse and worse news about the future, and he's still unsure how to be a team leader while still keeping his friends. (Having to lecture M'gann about going into Bart's mind without permission wasn't fun.)

It's getting to the point where he's sort of not sure he wants to go home because he doesn't know if the team's ready to handle what's coming. He doesn't want anyone to die and he doesn't want anyone to quit the team and he doesn't want anyone to go evil and he's fourteen years old, and this is something he doesn't know how to fight at all.

... on the other hand, he gets to see his best friend a lot more here! That's something! Things are 27 kinds of awkward with them, but, uh, that's a bright spot kind of.

BASICALLY HE'S JUST REALLY STRESSED not all the time but definitely a low-grade sadness simmer in the back of his mind constantly even when he's goofing off. He probably needs to talk to someone, but he feels like he shouldn't dump problems on his team because hey, they're dealing with this too, and he's the leader, aaand he doesn't really trust anyone else with it (Alfred and bizarro Bruce are nice, but he's still walking on eggshells around them, sooo).

HAHA that's not surprising because a lot of their development happened in IC inboxes. GOD, I REALLY HATE IC INBOX CULTURE, it makes it impossible to stalk everything that's going on with your faves!! HUFF. These days I just have certain people's IC inboxes stalker pinned to notify me when someone makes a new top level comment in them... and then stalker pin that thread if it's of any interest to me... yeah... orz'''

Basically it started out as a one night stand thing that wasn't meant to go anywhere. That thread is here. (They'd spoken once before that, in Skye's intro post, and got along fairly well but there was no flirting. Her general reaction was "wow lol who's this schmuck.") But then she really enjoyed herself, and in the morning she woke up and had a minor freak out about it and left before Jesse woke up. Then she didn't speak to him for. A week. And then THIS DISASTROUS PHONE CALL HAPPENED. She meant to call him to apologise for using him as a one night stand rebound guy and ended up asking him out on a proper date, OOPS. Fuck.

Then they had an actual date and it was really fucking cute. So they started dating for a bit! And it was cute and good and really superficial but cute.

Then the Summer Games happened and they had a massive fight and she broke up with him because he lied to her. Later on she feels bad about it, because the lie is kind of technically in a nebulous area.

(If you're not reading along with the threads: something Jesse said on their first date reminded her of Ward and made her freak out, so she point blank asked him if he'd ever killed anyone. He said no, of course not, so she relaxed. Then during their Summer Games fight, he confessed that he has killed someone, cue massive Skye explosion of anger. Of course, he later confessed that what he meant by that was that his girlfriend overdosed and he feels responsible for it because he brought drugs into her life. Which... even though Jesse feels responsible for it, Skye herself doesn't consider that to come under the category of "having purposefully killed someone," which is what her question was about. But then on the other hand, Jesse himself DOES, which means that in his own mind, he lied to her. So it's tricky. More than that, it highlighted to her what a terrible train wreck of a person he is.)

Skye then had several threads with other people post Summer Games about what she should do going forward from here. She wasn't really mad about him lying to her anymore because it was such a nebulous case and really upsetting for Jesse personally, so she would've lied about it on a first date too if it'd been her. But it does cause her to realise how much she really does care about him and misses him and hates being broken up with him... at the same time as making her realise that he's really a walking disaster of a person. Pretty much everyone she cries on agrees that she should break up with him.

So naturally, what does she do? She calls him to get back together.

This thread comes right after, which is basically "Skye tries to suss out just how much of a trashbag Jesse really is if she's really going to pursue this relationship seriously, and instead he comes out squeaky clean." So from that point forward she feels guilty for doubting him and begins to really believe that he's a good guy who's just had some tough breaks and is trying to make amends now.

And then I think there's this thread where they actually have a semi discussion as to whether they're really dating or just booty calls.

MAN THERE'S MORE but I think those are the important ones development-wise, on the "how the fuck did they get together" side of things. I haven't linked anything more recent than that for... obvious reasons...
