TEST DRIVE MEME
Considering apping into MASK OR MENACE? Want to dip your toes into the setting and get a feel of whether your character will fit into it? Or maybe you're just cruising and want to play around? Then you've come to the right place!
Pick any of the following scenarios below or feel free to make up your own, but don't be afraid to throw yourself at anyone's thread, either!
And remember to have fun!01. Your memory is hazy and you might feel increasingly frustrated or anxious, or maybe you're excited as soldiers march past, barely glimpsing you. One second you're somewhere underground, the next you're enveloped in blue light, and suddenly you find yourself directly under Flordia sun's bright and burning glare. A female soldier steps toward you with a wide smile on her face and directs you to a car, ready to debrief you. You realize you are not the only one, surrounded by equally confused or eager faces... and you're all sporting a digital tattoo on your wrist.
02. Welcome to Cape Canaveral, where the smell of the ocean is in the air and locals are more than pleased to see new imPorts roaming their streets. They wave, they cheer, they ask for pictures as politely as they can. The more inhuman you look, or if you're wearing a costume, the more likely locals are to approach. Hey, enjoy the moment! The popular malt shop is offering you a free drink if you need it.
03. The technology in this world is certainly something. The cars are clearly modeled after popular 50s cars, but they hover several feet above the ground as they drive down the street. There are digital jukeboxes in restaurants, motorcycles also hover through traffic, advertisements can be seen on a digital projector on the taller buildings. Even kids on skateboards appear to drift a safe ten feet off the ground while playing!
04. Wherever you are, you can hear the loud revving of an engine, distance at first before you finally see it: a hovercar bursting around the corner, going beyond the maximum speed limit and just barely making its sharp turn. It doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon, not with two police cars trailing it... and uh oh. Those skateboarding kids don't have much time to get out of the way as the car comes speeding down the road. You've been brought here for a reason Hero — so you better act fast.

While Melkor thinks about how to use this, Námo wonders how long Melkor has been there. And what the odds had been that he'd have witnessed Námo's interference in fate.]
And yours? What does yours say? [He doubts it will mark Melkor the same as himself but he is a bit curious.]

Mine is slightly different but it matters not. You are here and I shall show you around. There is no sacred light here, only a Sun and darkness covers this planet at night. It is truly a fascinating sight.
[Melkor does the nice thing of warning his brother about the whole Sun and Moon thing because it still takes him by surprise when the Sun vanishes and reappears.]

At the mention of the Sun, Námo turns his head and almost squints at Melkor. He cannot be serious but something like that-]
The Sun and Moon. Arien and Tilion guide them through the sky. [At least on Arda, they do. He can't sense them here.]

[It's a moment of surprise that Melkor admits that he honestly is surprised that they have a Sun and Moon in their world now too. Apparently he'd been missing out on something.]
Arien, I recall her. She burns so brightly.
[Melkor can't stop himself from smiling at the thought. She was a Maia he was rather found of, aside from Mairon. He certainly had a type.]

Destroyed.
[Melkor no.]
She is beyond your reach, Melkor. [He knows what you're thinking.]

He looked up at the sky, peering at the Sun. It's light was dull compared to the light of the Trees, it didn't particularly hurt his eyes to look at it. But nonetheless, he craved its light for his own.]
Yet this Sun shines above us. Tonight the Moon will appear. It may not be the sacred light of the Trees but they are rather beautiful.
no subject
He's scowling at that delighted look but he follows the gaze to look towards the Sun. He's right, Námo can't deny it, that the Sun here does not shine like the Trees.]
They are. Nothing compares to the light of the Trees. Not even our Sun and Moon.

I shall show you this world then, brother.
no subject
You know it well then?

[Melkor said as he looked down at what Namo was wearing. Melkor himself was at least dressed somewhat more fitting in a loose black tunic and grey pants paired with a beautiful necklace set with glittering green jewels.]
I shall assist you then. Do you feel hunger or thirst?
no subject
And of course Melkor is wearing jewelry, especially something that stands out. Somehow Námo isn't the slightest bit surprised. Although he wonders briefly just where he got the necklace.]
Ah. [The questions surprises him a little. He isn't used to feeling either and it's going to become a bit annoying to deal with it now.] Hunger, I suppose.
[He's still suspicious of you, Melkor.]
no subject
It is truly the most delicious delicacy here.
[Melkor assured him as he lead him down the street looking very pleased with himself.]
