My dreams are boring, I assure you. At both the high and low ends of the scale.

I doubt it immeasurably.

... I suppose a few are more colorful than others. Still, I don't see how my dreams are relevant. They are not a current concern of my work.

Because dreams are fun. A shortcut to your psyche.

... Of course they are.

But I've already stripped my self to the bones. There's no entertaining of concepts in my psyche; I'm always putting my ideas into practice.

So what can I say? I sometimes indulge in the scenic route.

One has to know about theatrics when organizing a show.

And have a plan for what goes on backstage. Don't let the players or the audience see their own strings.

Oh, sometimes that's when it's the most fun.

It's nice to watch them struggle against the inevitable, occasionally, knowing there's nothing they can do. Marionettes are quite frightening themselves. Imagine being one! Imagine the things my toxin can make them do.

Still. You're right that sometimes it's good to indulge them in a little surprise.

Either way, they'll both be screaming for me in the end.

I've spent far too long as a marionette myself to care for being one again. That is to say: I don't think you're wrong.

Quite so. It's a rare occasion indeed when the marionette is capable of cutting its own strings.
