The Headcanon Meme

I. Post with your character. If you've got a bunch, consider doing a catch-all under one header.
II. Poke other characters with questions. Ask about their childhood, crushes, their thoughts on game events. Anything you can imagine.
III. Answer questions people have left for you with your headcanon, or canon if it's been covered there.
IV. Feel free to go into as much or as little detail as you want.

Ellie Williams // The Last Of Us

Least Favorites: Ellie isn't too big a fan of bitter candy. Dark chocolate is almost on this list but she'll eat it if it's in front of her. This list is super short considering that any type of food is loved. Given that her diet consisted of dried fruit, old canned foods and stale or freeze-dried shit with the lucky shot at deer or rabbit? Ellie loves anything and everything she can get her hands on here.

A good, old fashioned American breakfast. Huge stack of pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage and a huge cup of orange juice. It's a damn good thing she lives with a native Texan because she loves her breakfasts big and greasy with plenty of dead pig.

and what if riley showed up with a bite

Well, with my headcanon, Ellie and Riley waited it out. They hid away in an abandoned apartment and Riley turned within the general 24-48 hours it takes to turn. When nothing happened to Ellie and things were getting progressively worse for Riley, the discussion of what should be done came up, because it was obvious that Ellie wasn't going to change anytime soon.
Well, the answer was to make a change of plans and put Riley out of her misery, which Ellie couldn't quite handle the responsibility of. She put off shooting Riley until it was too late, and Riley wound up turning and coming for her. Ellie didn't get her on the first shot, due to inexperience with a gun. She emptied out Riley's pistol on her.
If Riley were to show up here, it would initially be met with emotional disbelief which would promptly turn to excitement. Lots of ugly tears, Ellie grabbing onto Riley and not letting go, a sudden and completely messy and embarrassing kiss.
But there would mostly be the disbelief of seeing her friend that she saw dead last. It would take a lot of discussing to make her understand which would end up evolving into Ellie being stoked to introduce her to Joel, show her around, etc... But I don't think Ellie would ever truly be able to be comfortable with Riley being there. She saw her dead, she killed her.
And if she showed up with a bite?
Actually... That's a real tough one. It was hard enough killing Riley the first time, and she really prolonged putting her down. Unfortunately, with the experiences she's had and the exposure she's had with Joel and how he deals with things?
She'd probably shoot her on site.

After exposure to Joel's teachings of internalizing everything and the violence that they've both had to revert to very often, it just seems the most likely that she would force herself to put matters into her own hands. She feels a really hefty sense of responsibility when it comes to the infection, given her immunity. The fact that she was with Riley during the time she got bitten, what she agreed to with her and all that, she did make a promise.
It's super cold though, I am not going to disagree.

five things she loves most about being in a non-apocalyptic world
five things she finds most confusing about this new world she's in

Five things she wants Joel to teach her/show her:
-How to swim
-How to play guitar
-All the music he listened to before everything went down
-HOW GOOD OF A FUCKING SINGER HE IS. Live concert with Joel pls.
-Take her to the mall, a carnival, the movie theater... Basically anywhere she's been told a kid needs to experience.
Five things she loves most about being in a non-apocalyptic world:
-I'd be crazy not to put this first: THE FOOD. Holy shit, Ellie is almost angry about how delicious and easily attainable the food is here. Waking up to a hot breakfast and being able to order food to be delivered? Coolest fucking thing ever.
-Obviously, the lack of danger. She's still at a point where she's not entirely sure this whole safety thing is legit. But she definitely enjoys the lack of anxiety she's been feeling since she's started adjusting.
-AIR. CONDITIONING. The greatest invention known to man.
-Hot water. She took her first hot bath recently and fell asleep halfway through. Woke up in a panic when she started breathing in the goddamn water.
-Working technology. Video games, movies, music, etc...
Five confusing things about the new world she's in:
-How the FUCK is everyone so goddamn trusting here? It's almost sickening how people jump at the chance to go hang out with one another.
-How could she possibly have been here before? Why does she not remember a single damn thing that happened the last time she was here? Ellie has not stopped thinking about that since she's arrived and it's the one fact that makes her the most comfortable. Never mind the disbelief that this place is truly safe.
-The school here. The education has an extreme lack of survival skills and military drills. What is writing a paper about the history of some dead dude going to do to benefit her future?
-Still not sure how figuring out where you're going to chill out the next day with friends or what you're going to wear is an important thing. She's seen it on her feed, it sort of makes her uncomfortable.
-Technology. All of it. How the FUCK do you use all this shit?

Most of the kids she's met here, other than Carl and Glitch of course, haven't had the pleasure of dealing with an epidemic or apocalypse. She's been met with curiosity and pity from those that have had her explain where she comes from. Not that she entirely held it against them at first, but she's kind of really bitter about them. She's been told a few times that now she can be a normal kid, which sort of makes no sense to her because her life as a child in her world was normal by her standards.
It's not that she will completely dismiss getting to know these people, because she definitely wants to, but there's such a bitter jealousy she's trying to contain that is really grating on her nerves and patience.
