The Headcanon Meme

I. Post with your character. If you've got a bunch, consider doing a catch-all under one header.
II. Poke other characters with questions. Ask about their childhood, crushes, their thoughts on game events. Anything you can imagine.
III. Answer questions people have left for you with your headcanon, or canon if it's been covered there.
IV. Feel free to go into as much or as little detail as you want.

But I think overall her childhood was good! I headcanon that she only had one caretaker, a martian woman, and she treated her very well, cared a great deal about her and taught her a lot and did the best she could with an emotional being. For the most part the rest of the tribe treated her well, and as loving as Martians can show, and accepted her as a Martian, or, at worst, ambivalent. She had Croach as a friend, and the-y grew up together, so she was never lonely. They probably went out and had stupid adventures, and he was in charge of tracking her down when she ran off to pout alone in the plains. But even at a young age she was aware of her otherness and it made her anxious sometimes, which is part of why she didn't take her trials to get Nah Notek, because I think she was afraid that because she wasn't a Martian she would fail and be exiled and she couldn't bear the thought at age 11.
But, I think when she reached teenage hood, silly volatile teen hormones, coming into contact with humans more, and Martians refusal to show a lot of emotion started putting doubts in her mind about how much they actually accepted and cared about her and that led her to eventually leaving the tribe.
She probably had a bit of a hard time adjusting to being with humans because she would be acting very Martian and folks were probably put off or made fun of her about it. Or, even worse, didn't take her seriously, which was a mistake since she could out ride, out wrestle and out shoot anyone thanks to the Martians teaching her. She slowly learned how to talk like the locals, and how to properly shake hands, how to conjugate verbs, etc. But because of that period of alienation, she was also not comfortable amongst humans, so she chose to mostly ride alone.

She was probably using "ain't" straight away but didn't know what it was conjugating till a couple months later because it was too embarrassing to oask.
