The Headcanon Meme

I. Post with your character. If you've got a bunch, consider doing a catch-all under one header.

II. Poke other characters with questions. Ask about their childhood, crushes, their thoughts on game events. Anything you can imagine.

III. Answer questions people have left for you with your headcanon, or canon if it's been covered there.

IV. Feel free to go into as much or as little detail as you want.

Sex and romance are low priorities for Edgeworth, so this is a bit tricky! And this is something that I admit I'm pretty fickle about, and am liable to change my mind on depending on the game/meme/psl. That said, here's what I have in mind for MoM!Edgeworth, on the rare moments that he actually does think about this sort of thing.

So. First off, confidence and competence are a lethal combination for him. If someone's cocky, but doesn't have the skill to back it up, he's just going to roll his eyes at them. And if someone isn't confident in themselves... well, it isn't a deal breaker, but it would take a long time for him to notice them. But if someone knows what they're doing, and has the confidence and charisma to show it, then that gets his attention very, very quickly. Intelligence is also important, and while Edgeworth normally associates this with academic intelligence, people who are streetsmart, emotionally intelligent, or just plain clever also fit the bill. Dignity and grace? Also important.

...but all of this is more negotiable than he realizes. What he wants more than that, though he won't admit it, is someone who won't judge him. Someone who won't laugh when he fumbles or makes mistakes, someone who won't think he's stupid when he's less than perfect, and someone who won't think he's a terrible person when they find out what he's done. He doesn't quite realize this, though. Like I said, sex and romance are low priorities for him, and he's convinced himself that his life is great and he doesn't need anything but success. But once in a blue moon, he thinks, if only for a minute, that it might be... nice to have someone like this in his life.

Until he reminds himself that sentiment and softness is stupid and have no place in his life. Emotions are for chumps.
