TL;DR cr meme

THE TL;DR CR Meme

It's that time again and why not start it off with a heart warming and tragic foreshadowing gif?

1. Post with your characters - if you have more than one, make a catch all under one header.
2. respond to other people's characters with your characters.
3. They will tell you exactly what their character thinks of your character in depth! Icly or oocly! Make it long, this is teal deer territory after all.
4. React if you wish!
5. You can use this stuff for cr charts or you can even link to something you have written.
6. This is brought to you by irony from one of the more unfriendly characters in game.

His opinion of her is in very large flux in their current conversation and will probably continue to change tag-by-tag, since this is their first serious interaction really & he didn't know anything about her before.

At first he thought she was just some pretty, flirty girl (and obviously super homosexual Chilton's beard). And they hadn't really talked much.

Now obv he doesn't know for sure that she's being honest that she's a "monster," she might just be a human who's a psychopath and thinks highly of herself, but it makes her interesting anyway that she would say that. And obviously Lucifer picked her for a reason, and also Lucifer made the choice to tell her what he was doing, so that says a whole hell of a lot about what sort of person she is (aka: one he can probably relate to). The sickly sweet manipulation thing seems pretty rad. When he has time to think about it, he'll find it really hilarious that she used giving her blessing as a bargaining tool, but he's hoping she isn't going to like. Order Chilton to do it. Because for him the joy is in tempting him until he breaks. >)

Abduxel would like nothing more than to just actually kill him and paint his office red with his blood.

He's really creeped out by Crane and immensely frustrated that nothing he does rattles the man. He doesn't understand that Crane literally doesn't feel fear - it's never once crossed his mind - he thinks Crane is just fantastic at hiding it and will absolutely resort to physical violence at some point. Since a big drive for Abduxel is invading peoples' memories and making them feel their shameful/sinful pasts, it really, really riles him up that this doesn't have an effect on Crane.

It also makes his blood boil that he has to play nice with Crane or else risk him tattling to Abusive Daddy (Lucifer). GROW UP CRANE!!!!!

He'll follow "the letter of the law" re: Crane but undermine him probably, in subtle ways.

Yes on both counts.

And that could hurt Robert so hard, if he realises Crane's too far gone to be redeemed. Especially since you said he sees a bit of himself in Crane, who's like a younger peer. Though, I wonder what his view is there on the state of Crane's mental health being responsible for it, versus the fact he's just a completely shitty person.

Who the fuck needs a safeword? The safeword should simply be 'FIRE AT WILL' literally. Ok so Crane might enjoy using fire. Don't hate.

And Crane wants nothing more than to keep Abduxel drugged and undergoing tests in a lab somewhere. FOR SCIENCE.

But seriously! They're like bickering adopted siblings. Which is funny, since Crane has human motivations and some of the vengeful spats he can get into betray a very childish nature, in some regards. There's a reason Batman calls his big moments of showing off his tantrums. Crane's a human being, but he'd make one completely fucked up demon if Lucifer had the power here to turn humans into them. I mean, he's pretty demonic as it is. He's just stuck in flesh and blood.

And undermining? That's why Crane works solo. He hates LACKEYS who can think ty bb.

GOOD. BECAUSE I HATE YOU. /end meme

JK. It's complicated is the best way to describe this CR. Walt doesn't outright hate Crane. He thinks Crane is fucked up in the head and dangerous -- always kind of has -- but even more so now that he knows someone Crane used his toxin on. But at the same time, Crane is one of the rare few chemists here and Walt can respect a chemist -- even if they do some pretty terrible things with that chemistry. (I mean, hello. Walt just made Chilton some tabun to have on him just in case Crane comes after him again.)

Now that Walt is team!Chilton, he does see Crane as a sort of enemy. He thinks Crane is a loose canon who might get Batman all up in his business and since Walt is only JUST establishing himself as Heisenberg here, he can't afford the risk. Crane also insulted Walt's pride by mocking him, and Walt doesn't take kindly to narcissistic injury. So while he once believed he and Crane could have been friends, Crane ruined it on purpose and now Walt wants to retaliate in some way.

He doesn't trust Crane to not attack the people he cares about. He worries that there will be some kind of retaliation now that he closed off his lab to Crane, and therefore, he needs to take the preemptive. Now Walt's very used to just murdering his problems away, but since that method doesn't exactly work here -- he's putting his faith in Chilton and hoping they can at least attack Crane where it hurts, his pride and chemistry.

No.

The fact Crane gets off on fear is woven into the fabric of his character. He needs breaking down before that can happen; Walt, Chilton and Raina might be striking him at his ego, but one of the things Crane is most steadfast in is his sense of self. He's always been true to himself and he's extremely difficult to manipulate, though he can be guided - as Penguin well knows. The incident in his basement where he got fear gassed in his face? Yeah, that.

Crane's utterly frustrated by Raina, as well. There's a reason Harley's getting off lightly compared to her, once famine is over. Her manipulation is intimate and personal, and her personality is quite intimate as well? Whereas Crane's perfectly content in his isolation. So they're at opposite ends of the scale. But also? She reminds him a hell of a lot of Sherry. She led him on using her wiles. She was manipulative. She turned on him and made him a laughing stock.

She also ended up dead.

Might want to smack-talk Abduxel after for giving shitty advice, bb.

ok so because greg berlanti, andrew kreisberg and geoff johns are awful we don't know why eobard hates barry so much yet. i imagine we'll get a concrete answer to that in s2 but until then i'm doing my best to be mysterious about it.

Anyways when the series begins he only has hatred for Barry that he disguises and restrains heavily on a day to day basis. He's aware of how young and even helpless Barry is and only plans to use him as a means of getting back home and then killing him once he gets that. When he watched Barry grow up, he didn't see a child whose life he ruined - he saw his enemy who he wanted dead more than anything at a different point in time. That informs a lot of how he sees Barry when things begin because he knows this isn't the Barry who wronged him yet, but the fact that he one day will is enough to not forgive.

However as time passes and moves along, he begins to actually enjoy this version of Barry a lot. He's sweet, a little impulsive, good natured and is so heavily blinded by adoration that he may as well have rose colored corneas. It's actually endearing how much he stumbles and still gets back up despite whatever losses he may have, and Eobard realizes far too late that he's beginning to become fond of Barry's presence to do anything about it. Somehow for all his hatred of Barry, all the things he cannot forgive or forget, this version of Barry strikes him as genuinely different from the older one he knows. If I had to mark the turning point, the fondness would have started in episode 7 and Eobard would be aware of how deep he's in by episode 11. In episode 7 he has his first real conflict with Barry over how to deal with Farooq, but also took a risky bet with his belief in Barry by putting himself in the line of fire and being saved in the last moment because he trusted Barry would. It's not the kind of bet he would ever make before and it makes him admit to being wrong about Barry's attachment to others in his logs.

Then in episode 11 Hartley coming back and being so clearly jealous of how much Eobard favors Barry now. At first Eobard ignored it because he knew any perceived favoring he had of Barry was on the surface for his own means. Then when Hartley forced his hand and made him admit to the Particle Accelerator having a large risk of explosion, one which he purposefully ignored and wasn't really sorry over, the way everyone reacted to his lie hit harder than he expected. He didn't regret what he did, because he did it on purpose for a reason, but he felt something he didn't expect to feel - loss. Losing the loyalty and trust of his three team members, even temporarily, felt like a blow he didn't anticipate. At the end of the episode when things seem forgiven, Barry gives him a framed photo of the four of them as a gift (and he actually has that picture with him since it was brought as one of his belongings) and for the first time he doesn't feel the need to quell his rage toward Barry while the boy is around.

Basically that was the moment Eobard realized he was starting to like Barry Allen and felt like smashing his head into a wall over his poor life decisions.

In the finale he says he's come to love Barry the same way Joe and Henry do, but I think an interpretation keeping in line with that is he's come to love Barry as a creation he made in this time. In this new timeline, he is the one who made Barry into the Flash. The one who gave him his powers, who has been pushing and teaching him and making him into the hero he will be revered as in the future. Though he can admit that much of it was Barry's efforts, he is more inclined to say that the reason Barry has gotten as far as he has at this point is directly because of him. Because he pushed Barry to get better, acted as the center of his obsession to get justice for his father as the Man in Yellow who killed his mother, and knows murdering Nora has given Barry the life he has now. That without him, none of this would be possible or real. and unfortunately the fickle construct known as time agrees considering a singularity ripped open the moment he ceased to exist.

His love is as genuine as his hatred and both of them are mixing and in conflict because there are aspects he has come to love about Barry and things he continues to hate. He took care of Barry for the first three days he was in MoM not entirely because he had to, but because he wanted to. It wouldn't have been an issue to leave Barry alone for extended periods of time, but he was up there checking on him almost every three or four hours in the day. His feelings for Barry are real and not manufactured as part of his Harrison Wells identity, but they will always be warped by his perception of himself and the world as a whole. He continues to think himself as Barry's mentor and even father figure despite the truth that has come out, because he views the truth of everything to be inconsequential.

His last words to Barry before he fades into nothingness are "I've controlled your life for so long Barry, how will you get along without me" and that speaks a lot to what he thinks of himself in regards to Barry. He is the dark to Barry's light, the evil to the good, and the person Barry has been determined to prove is out there since he was eleven. He thinks Barry is helpless without him, cannot function or exist without his influence, and the sad thing is Eobard has yet to grasp that the opposite is even more true. Barry has been the sole focus of his life for the last fifteen years and even longer before that. If Barry really can't get along without Eobard, as he so claims, then how will Eobard get along without Barry? Answer: he won't be able to, not for long. The truth he hasn't figured out yet is that he needs Barry more than Barry needs him, not the other way around, and that may just be something he'll never be able to figure out because of who he is.

also here is that gif set you're welcome no but really do link me i love comparison gif sets.

He seems like an impatient, smart-aleck kid to her, albeit one with incredibly useful abilities. She's glad that he's putting them to good use with Archangel, but she's not sure she trusts him to always make the right decisions without supervision. She definitely wouldn't put him in charge of the team's finances, that's for sure.

Still, she thinks he could grow up a little and become a productive member of society. Or not, depending on what kind of guidance he gets.
