SABRIEL IS AN ENIGMA

it's a little strange being...friends?? is friends the word. with someone who will flat-out try to kill her if she "steps out of line" or whatever. marceline doesn't like the feeling, but sabriel's not boring and she's good with music, so she can usually ignore it. it bothers her sometimes, but she can deal. really, she isn't sure what to think of her. she's wary, and she tries to keep sabriel about as distant as most people. which isn't really a knock at her specifically, but...

it's weird. it's weird and she doesn't like it, even if sabriel's fairly okay.

marceline feels...betrayed? in her own dumb personal way that doesn't make a lot of sense. she put herself out there, she thought kanaya would get it, but she convinced herself pretty fast that kanaya didn't actually understand shit and she was gonna keep projecting her own issues onto her and. yeah. it made her take a hard look at herself and that messed with her head for a while. she's finally settling back into some kind of normalcy in a new city after a few weeks of shitty coping mechanisms, tho - ironically, closer to kanaya.

there's probably hope to rebuild that bridge, she wanted to like kanaya, but marceline's too damn stubborn and prideful and childish to make the first move.

marceline has kind of a soft spot for kids! partially because she's immature as fuck. rip's eagerness to join her horrible girl scouts trick army was a great first impression, and she's been pretty charmed ever since. her appreciation for ozzy and singing dogs only made the case stronger tbh.
