TL;DR cr meme

THE TL;DR CR Meme

It's that time again and why not start it off with a heart warming and tragic foreshadowing gif?

1. Post with your characters - if you have more than one, make a catch all under one header.
2. respond to other people's characters with your characters.
3. They will tell you exactly what their character thinks of your character in depth! Icly or oocly! Make it long, this is teal deer territory after all.
4. React if you wish!
5. You can use this stuff for cr charts or you can even link to something you have written.
6. This is brought to you by irony from one of the more unfriendly characters in game.

Spoilers: at the worst possible moment, as per usual.

Most personal negative relationship applies to Will, too. He knows what it's like to be trapped, both mentally and physically — Hannibal backed him all the way into a tiny little cell at BSHCI, after all! — and Crane has managed to narrow in on one of those. And it really sucks! Will is stuck and he can't find a way to approach Chilton about certain things Crane has told because, okay, what if they're actual bullshit and now Will looks like he believes or has more faith in Crane than he does Chilton? Their relationship already has some bumps and rockiness, does he really want to risk blowing a crater in the middle of it on Crane's word? Is it worth it?

And that's what makes it more personal than if he just came after Will, or if he just got bored one day and kicked Chilton in the face. He hasn't just attacked Will's people (and, by extension, Will), he's done his research. He has information that can screw Chilton over if it's true, but how does Will find out if it's true or false without going to Chilton and you see the cycle goes forever. To Will's thinking, though, Crane is oddly honest. Not unlike the way Hannibal is oddly honest. So he's both attractive and repulsive, like the live bait on the end of the hook in a frigid pond attempting to trigger a fish into believing he really is hungry. He really does need to bite. Will doesn't want to bite, though, because what happens if he bites and Chilton gets messed over from it? Trying to figure out how to go about this in a way where Crane is the only one who comes out screwed over is difficult and sucks and Will knows that is his design and there's nothing worse than a design that screws everyone over when that everyone involves people Will has to keep safe.

So what to do, other than call in a chimera and hope that Crane cracks in a way so explosive and deranged that anything he says about anyone else can be blown off as insanity? Which also sucks for Will, you know, being the guy who listened to the damaged when no one else would (Georgia, Peter), but Crane is stepping on his turf so you know

Fuck that guy he doesn't know what he's talking about hahahahahaahahaha [STARES AT CRANE DISAPPROVINGLY]

Howdy howdy.

Red is a breath of fresh air, in all honesty. She's "Western" to a fault but she comes from Mars, so okay. Mars sounds AWESOME. Couple the whole howdy y'all hat and stuff with her willingness to not only learn about this place but to expand her horizons (asking for books, curiosity in regards to "strange" sounding pizzas) is absolutely delightful. Maybe she indulges in chew and uses a spittoon, but she's doing that while reading literature that's new to her and what some might consider beyond her, stereotypes and all. So yeah, she's headed into dangerous situations and been badass, but being capable in a fight or able to blow shit up isn't what makes her a badass.

It's everything else: her independent spirit, her proactive nature, her openness to new things. Which probably helps make her a real threat on the battlefield when paired with specific skills, go figure.

also you should know this happened

Jaime Reyes is a good kid.

Jaime is a weirdly good kid. He's more of a suspiciously "good kid" than he's a suspiciously "PROBS SUPERHERO IN HIDING" sort of good kid. He's patient, and generous, and kind, and he has this really strange of knack wherein he actually admits his flaws/faults (like not being good at puns) instead of blowing it off or pretending it doesn't exist. Which is pretty amazing for a teenager when so many of them are THE BEST EVER and KNOW EVERYTHING THAT MATTERS NOW GIVE ME THE CAR KEYS MOOOOOOM. He seems like the product of a good home, sure, but he also seems like the sort of person who gives back to the goodness of that home and makes it better than it was before or would be without him. Will certainly feels like the game at large is better for having someone like Jaime Reyes around, and not just because he's on call to answer (and argue) about superhero politics and the like. This whole feeling has only been amplified since his shadow came out smiling, btw, because that's awesome and strange.

A very small part of Will is somewhat envious of Jaime, too, while being in awe of him. He's so...together, for lack of a better word. He knows who he is. He knows what he wants, or seems to know his goals, hopes, dreams. He has a drive, however quiet it is, and he's always struck Will as the sort of person who sticks to his guns unless something really, really huge comes along to rattle him. Like, he'll probably have a few moments of "OH NO REALLY" if someone he knows well makes a rude/below the belt comment at him, about his behavior, but he doesn't seem like a messy bundle of self-esteem problems who'd go home and listen to Linkin Park while suffering a huge crisis over every little thing just because so-and-so said this-and-that. Which is awesome to see in a young person (if Jaime actually is young DUN DUN DUN).

hay gurl hay

Ana (I didn't sleep well and can't remember the alt code for the special i and copy/paste is in use in other areas right now please forgive my laziness please be kind) seems like the sort of person who honestly just likes to have fun, which does not at all mean that's all there is to her, but she's got that zesty spirit that pops nicely. It isn't obnoxious (in Will's direction; others might have different experiences and argue, naturally), either, but another one of those breaths of fresh air. She doesn't get down and wallow in the mud of soul-crushing despair when whisked away to another reality, and she doesn't roll in pity whenever her housemates up and vanish, as far as he can tell. What does she do? SHE GOES TO VEGAS and gets drunk and texts several people (how much you wanna bet he and April ended up texting her at the same time while they sat in bed, let's get the money rolling here) and doesn't at all give a shit about how they might look back at these conversations and think wow, this weird girl, probably underage, getting drunk, the shock, the horror, fetch my smelling salts the future is doomed! So maybe she's covering up some legitimate dark past, who can tell, but even with all her bullshit (like being Freddie's bff and whatnot) she still seems to stay to true to who she is on at least one level instead of putting up a front, you know? Which is pretty neat. Maybe she spews lies and can't figure out riddles, who cares, at least she appears to know who she is and is comfortable enough with herself to be consistently true to that part of her, the part of her that's her and doesn't back down, even when she's texting someone in law enforcement.

Which is basically to say: mad respect, yo, keep on keepin' on, call Ludgate or Graham if you need to get out of jail for a minor offense. You cool.
infomodder: i'm getting away with murder. A LOT. LEGALLY? IT'S SORT OF COOL. (but the reality is:)

THE SUMMONER’S PROLOGUE (modern translation)
High in his stirrups, then, the summoner stood;
Against the friar his heart, as madman’s would,
Shook like very aspen leaf, for ire.
“Masters,” said he, “but one thing I desire;
I beg of you that, of your courtesy,
Since you have heard this treacherous friar lie,
You suffer it that I my tale may tell!
This friar he boasts he knows somewhat of Hell,
And God He knows that it is little wonder;
Friars and fiends are never far asunder.
For, by gad, you have oftentimes heard tell
How such a friar was snatched down into
Hell In spirit, once, and by a vision blown;
And as an angel led him up and down
To show the pains and torments that there were,
In all the place he saw no friar there.
Of other folk he saw enough in woe;
And to the angel then he questioned so:
“’Now, sir,’ said he, ‘have friars such a grace
That none of them shall come into this place?’
“’Nay,’ said the angel, ‘millions here are thrown!’
And unto Sathanas he led him down.
“’And now has Sathanas,’ said he, ‘a tail
Broader than of a galleon is the sail.
Hold up thy tail, thou Sathanas!’ said he,
“’Show forth thine arse and let the friar see
Where is the nest of friars in this place!’
And ere one might go half a furlong’s space,
Just as the bees come swarming from a hive,
Out of the Devil’s arse-hole there did drive
Full twenty thousand friars in a rout,
And through all Hell they swarmed and ran about.
And came again, as fast as they could run,
And in his arse they crept back, every one.
He clapped his tail to and then lay right still.
This friar, when he’d looked at length his fill
Upon the torments of that sorry place,
His spirit God restored, of His high grace,
Into his body, and he did awake;
Nevertheless for terror did he quake
So was the Devil’s arse-hole in his mind,
Which is his future home, and like in kind.
God save all but this cursed friar here;
My prologue ends thus; to my tale give ear."

tl;dr - matthew lin belongs in satan's butthole with all the friars
that is his home

Raina:
Okay so, one of darling Doctor Chilton's girlfriends threw him into the ocean and another (maybe??? maybe they were intimate??? Will doesn't want to think too deeply on some of these things okay) injected him with some tracking devices and spoilers not spoilers: Will never knew until much, much later. All this information came spilling out as Chilton tried to assure him that he was good at this survival stuff, he didn't need Will to play hero, he would ensure that they were kept safe, Frederick Chilton is a strong independent psychiatrist who has no need for particularly possessive patients who would bend over backwards to see to it that he was kept out of harm's way.
What Will took away from all this, other than new intel, was that he had 1) not been paying attention as much as he should have 2) needed to pay more attention and 3) whatever women Chilton got himself involved with were probably butts similar to him in certain aspects.
So the odds are already not in her favor of Will believing, fully and completely, that she's the sweet person she attempts to portray herself as. He believes that there is a part of her that can be sweet, no doubt about it...when she wants something.
He's wary around her, but that doesn't mean he dislikes her. He doesn't believe she's exactly the person she acts like to the public, but that doesn't mean he thinks poorly of her. Because he doesn't. Chilton's pet project didn't work out well, okay, so what, he's still a terribly smart (and sometimes downright terrible) man, and anyone he finds worthy of a romantic relationship has to be able to keep up with him on some level. Raina has a brain, and whether or not she uses that for good, her-idea-of-good, or full blown evil isn't something that Will can know. He can wonder, and he can speculate, but he knows he might be wrong whichever conclusion he draws in the end. He and Hannibal were eventually seen as ~*~BFFs~*~ from an outside perspective by several people when they actually weren't, after all, so the whole birds of a feather thing is not necessarily accurate. He knows from experience!
She might be this fake-sweet person because she's used to "polite society" and how to interact with it the same as she might this fake-sweet person because she's A HORRIBLE LYING SCUMBAG. Who is he to judge, look at what he's wearing.
And perhaps unsurprisingly, since she is so embroiled with Baltimore, if she ever needed Will to do anything (within reason, of course) and gave him a call, and it was something he could do...he'd do it. All the while expecting her to pass the news along to Chilton. Unless it was something that he was not allowed to know under any circumstance, because it's good to slowly put people with questionable morality (even if only in his head at the moment) in his debt.
He also gets the vibe that Raina either thinks in extremes or simply puts up the front that she does. This is the most aggravating thing about her at the moment.
So she's doing pretty damn well in his book. For now.

Mister White (is the devil):
Walter White has a problem! Will feels worse that Hank's time ended up being wasted than his own time ended up being wasted, and if Walter White's problem is wasting other people's time and having weird anger fits, he's not so bad.
Except for the part where that's all directed to Baltimore. Chilton hasn't mentioned him since and Will's essentially put him out of his head because he assumes if he needs to know anything, if he absolutely has to know something...he'll know it in time. Would be nice to be told, but maybe it'll just get clearly shown where everyone (or several) can see it, too. Which sounds absolutely horrible compared to Walter's jealousy issues but in this case, Will is like that one oblivious kid in high school who doesn't realize the other kid at the back of the cafeteria stares at him all during lunch biting his lip and stabbing his food harshly because screw that guy so much FUCK THAT GUY. He's completely blind to the full extent of the relationship between Chilton and White, and thus he's also blind to the fact of the matter that Walter is out there

Elsa was just another imPort from what Will assumes must be a magical world with a SUPER BADASS car until The Thing happened. You know what I'm talking about.

ANYWAY he doesn't have the most solid outlines or opinions just YET but if she's hanging out with demon bros he imagines that her form of mage (-ery? ism? what is the correct word, hell if Will knows he knows nothing about the supernatural like that he is Jon Snow here) probably veers to something darker. She's not the Final Fantasy healer type mage, you know, the ones that pray and have faith and summon both adorable helpful beasties as well as the most terrifying things you ever did see but overall retains a kind personality. She's probably involved in some crazy ass dark morbid magic and he would just rather not deal with it, thank you. Which doesn't necessarily mean she's a bad person at all (good and evil are different in the worlds around here, it seems) because maybe that type of magic is, like, the thing back where she's from? He acted as a parole officer for Ken Kaneki, who comes from a place with ghouls. They eat people, that is their norm and what they have to eat in order to keep going so it's like...even if her magic is this horrifying (Frollo voice) witchcraft, if she comes from a place where that's everyone's thing or just how it is, uh...what can you do?

BUT. Outside of the being naked and getting it on with Matthew (girl please love yourself), she was pretty much what he thought she'd be from their Network talks. Weird stuff rolls off her like water from a duck's back, she's got a bit of a foul mouth, and

that hair

YES HE HAS ACTUALLY in game and in canon girl you okay

Okay so Will has a bad habit of projecting some of his own issues on Ken with frequency. Mostly that someone will find him of interest (for Ken's cannibalism and his abilities, not the same as why Hannibal found Will interesting, but still the same sort of "no why" interest) and act on that in a way that's harmful. To Ken, to people around him (people he cares about or does not), and mess with him. In Will's mind, Ken legitimately does not need anyone else to mess with him. Someone please help Ken Kaneki by just leaving that poor bastard alone, my God.

So he's always a little on edge talking about to Ken to others, if he doesn't know them or hasn't been given the 411. His whole asking Touka if she was a ghoul was NOT meant as an insult or to be rude or anything, but for a bit of clarity...Ken's told him that he took to eating ghouls instead of humans so if Touka is actually a human buddy that makes a bit more sense, to him. There are three outcomes from their conversation and he won't know for sure until he asks (maybe he'll ask Ken, maybe not):

- Touka is a legitimate regular human, except for the fact that she's buddies (or appears to be buddies) with a ghoul. So either she's somewhat deranged and finds eating people/ghouls sort of badass, or she's this well of understanding and kindness and all that stuff because she knows what he does and still chooses to hang out with him anyway, recognizing that he can't not do what he does since his biological make up is completely different.
- Touka is some third option from ghoul world. Not a ghoul, not a human, not a half-human-half-ghoul or anything like that. Maybe a god/angel/demon/vampire/SOMETHING ELSE so that Ken being a ghoul is absolutely not a problem because she's either stronger/better/more skilled/invincible or just doesn't give a shit.
- Touka is a LIAR and a ghoul herself. Why ashamed of eating people, child? They're so tasty.

POWER GIRL (is not KAREN STARR):
This is great CR, and the land of miscommunication station, train now boarding. Will has little against those who take up capes (more thanks to Peej, gj gj), but the fact is that she did threaten Freddie publicly and he can't ignore that. He feels it would have looked EXTREMELY BAD if someone working her investigation just immediately said YEAH OKAY AWESOME SUPERPOWERS ON OUR SIDE BLESS and took her help right off the bat...which led to a lack of indoor voice, OOPS. There's also the issue that Will in canon got heat for his relationship with Freddie, as you know. It made sense that others would side-eye him for what eventually happened to "her" and even though he knew that, it still sucked. Trying to keep the balance with Power Girl is a bit more difficult thanks to that, but it's helpfully padded by how he knows very well sometimes people put their foots in their mouths without actually having any intent behind it. Ideally, he'd like to have a (somewhat/mostly) honest discussion and put them on the same page. It's just sort of difficult for him to go about saying that, exactly.
Except now that Abigail's back, he's going to have to. Because Power Girl might be a bit rash with her words, but she's still Power Girl. She's somebody he could benefit from having on his side of things, more than just "she's a superheroine so lmao???? she has to help out if people need her???? LMAO???? STILL GONNA BE A COMPLETE ASSHOLE TO HER OTHERWISE THO" that's both rude and ungrateful at the same time. Obnoxious entitled civilian behavior smh.
