KASUMI GOTO. IT'S. If Peter knew how Facebook relationship statuses worked, he would slap an "It's Complicated" on here and be done with it.

But he does not and what the hell is Facebook and also he is not writing this, I am. So. Here we go.

It's complicated.

The thing with Kasumi is that Peter thinks she's really goddamn fun. He likes her style, and it meshes really well with his own, and holy shit she stole the Mona Lisa that's so goddamn awesome. Also-- she gets a special place in his heart for being one of the first people he's met who didn't ignore his code name or make fun of it and in fact used it. bless u kasumi goto. Kasumi's definitely his first friend he made since he got to this crazy, mixed up superhero-y Earth, and also the closest friend who has yet to try to steal from him or stab him or kidnap him, or you know. Kill him. BUT THEIR FRIENDSHIP IS YOUNG. There is time yet for betrayal to be wrought.

I think you've mentioned once or twice that Kasumi thinks Peter's just sticking around to see under her hood? Or possibly I'm imagining that. But either way, he is not. And while he does make frequent mention of wanting to see under her hood, it was more of a joke for him, after a certain point. Just a running gag. He couldn't have cared less, after a while (which is why I almost used "Kiss" by Prince as Peter's song for Kasumi. You don't have to be beautiful / To turn me on.), because he just really likes hanging out and talking to her. A lot. So if Kasumi came up to him before the horsemen event and was like, "Hey, you can either see under my hood, and we talk only a fourth as often, or I'd never take my hood off, and nothing changes," Peter would pick the latter, no questions asked. Because Peter really values their friendship, and he finds it seriously refreshing to meet someone who shares his particular career and love of space and also is not a screaming psychopath. She is seriously well-adjusted and it's such a breath of fresh air for him.

So-- okay. He might have a crush. A tiny one. But Peter doesn't do crushes or relationships or that whole bag. Sure, if Kasumi asked (and was also in her right mind at the time), he'd sleep with her in a heartbeat; but at the moment, he's all talk with no particular endgame in mind. A steady relationship seems totally out of the question, since she's never expressed an interest in as much, and he just-- doesn't think he can swing it. But he doesn't know how to have a close friendship and a casual-- thing at the same time, considering the handful of friends he has (canonically) that he'd consider sleeping with aren't interested, and the people he's slept with were just people he spent the night with. Possibly two nights. Maybe a few. But never long enough to get attached.

SO-- where am I going with this. I don't know. I might be taking the spirit of tl;dr too literally. But anyway, yes. Peter considers Kasumi a very close friend. Not BFFs, if only because Peter isn't quite sure where he stands with her and he knows Charlie has claimed the spot of being her bestie (and everyone knows you can't have two bests. That just doesn't make sense). Their conversations haven't really veered in that direction, but he probably wouldn't mind telling her a little about his life -- like the juicy, dark stuff he usually keeps quiet about, even.
