For Marty, Hazel is..........super strange and scary. She's an absolute stranger-- a person!! against the rules to even speak to!!!! -- and she went way, waaaaaaaaaay out of her way. For HIM! And he doesn't wholly understand why.

She's like this weird cocktail of vincent and danielle, two of his cousins he interacts with fairly regularly -- danielle, for that initiative and forceful goading along. Vincent for the air of aggravation and reluctance in even doing the thing. It's hard to process, because he gets why they put up with him -- but her? Why? What is he doing wrong to cause this kind of reaction?

He's scared of her. Scared of making her mad, because maybe she throws more than baby-gentle paper towels, or maybe because she hates him and she HAS to do something about him for some reason. That's the worst.

He's dreading hearing from her again, because he simply doesn't know what she expects out of him! GOOD JOB HAZEL, YOUR SUPPORT AND EFFORTS ARE REALLY PAYING OFF IN A HEALTHY WAY

I really love that her cr with both of them can more or less be boiled down to this gif or something like it.

BUT SHE TEASES EVERYONE THAT SHE LIKES MANABU THERE IS NO GETTING AWAY FROM IT. Just ask her bestest best bestie, she turned his announcement about a family member leaving into a talk about anal fisting. He's just going to have to get used to it because she's not stopping.

As for Martin...lmao yes this is exactly the intended result ghfdjk. Not really but like Hazel has ever let people being put off by her stop her from doing something she wants - including helping people, so it looks like he's going to learn from this experience or die trying.
