of course it's a parks and rec gif

Simple and easy! Here's how it goes:
1. POST a top-level with your character name
2. REPLY to other people's top-level with a question for that character
3. ANSWER the question you were asked
4. ASK a question of that person's characters in return!
We go back and forth like this asking questions in a thread until one or both of us runs out of questions!
QUESTIONS CAN BE ANYTHING. Serious or silly as you want! What does Jane think of (x)? What does Sarah have for breakfast? How many times a day does Alex masturbate? What's Tom's dream job? The only limit for questions is your imagination.
Replies can be as monosyllabic or as tl;dr are you want; it's up to you. Go wild kids!

I - um, yeah, of course. Why?
[that counts as her followup question, right. it better because that's all she's getting.]

I don't know if it would work, but those skills I was telling you about? Geomancy. [she knows Lapis knows the word, but she'll break it down anyway.] I can control earth. Minerals. Gems.
You say the word and I'll make damn sure they know not to mess with you anymore.
[she knows the concept of control is a very sore subject with Lapis. it's not exactly rainbows and butterflies with her, either. and admitting this might end up doing more harm than good in the friendship. but she wants Lapis to know what options are available to her.]
Are you okay with that?
no subject
...I don't know yet.
[she's not going to lie. Tara has been kind to her and shared encouragement and her own experiences, but Lapis is still so slow to trust. she has no reason to expose her ability and then turn it against her, but - but, well, she'd wanted to have those same hopes for Homeworld.
maybe in the future, when she's gotten her proof that she can let her guard down completely or she needs that sort of brutal power to defend herself. but right now she can't give a definitive answer, and Tara deserves to know that.]

[what she'd been saying catches up to her, and she lets out a shaky breath. that was pure Slade. that was the ruthlessness that he taught her. that was the part of her she thought had burned up in the volcano. good luck with that.]
I've been controlled before. I know what it's like.
[she swallows. she doesn't want to sound vindictive, but she's feeling it too much to keep it out of her voice.]
I think they deserve to know what they put you through. But it's your choice. I'm never going to do anything for you that you don't want me to do.

I don't know what I want yet.
[it's painfully honest, and it's clear from her voice just how adrift Lapis is. she's stumbling her way through one day at a time, hoping that somehow she'll happen upon the answers she needs. what does she do now? what does she want? she couldn't say.]
Whether they ever realize what they did or not...it's not going to change what happened. I'm not going to get anything back from it.
...I don't know if that's really worth anything.
no subject
Yeah. It's worth something. It's worth inner peace. [she exhales.] I'm sorry, Lapis. I didn't really want you to know about it, but... I'm not always as nice as I want to be. It gets bad. Really... really bad.
You're right, though. It won't change anything. Hurting them back is only going to feel good for a little bit.

[was it something that humans considered unseemly? Lapis has no idea, nor does she really care. revenge is understandable, perhaps in some instances required - hadn't it tempted even her for a moment, when Jasper had extended that hand? she knows.]
I just think...for me, there's too much that's happened now. They're not the only ones who took something from me, and hurting them the way I'd want to would just make Steven sad.
[she shrugs, and offers a smile that is not positive so much as sympathetic. Lapis understands where Tara is standing right now.]
But I'm not everybody. That's another choice people have to make for themselves.

[good thing this is all hypothetical. it sure would be bad if one of the Crystal Gems did decide to start shit with Lapis where Tara could watch!]
You're really not used to people giving a crap about your emotions, are you? [that's about as rhetorical as it gets. her smile is definitely positive.] Don't worry, Lapis. I've got your back. You don't need my help to make sure nobody messes with you again, but I'll give it if you want it. Whatever that ends up meaning.
no subject
Just knowing someone's there...that's enough.
[like an anchor. something weighty she could hold onto for reassurance (or support, if she's feeling brave) and move forward with confidence. Tara didn't need to do anything. she could draw strength just from knowing she existed, the same way Steven had given her the courage to become Malachite for him.]
