Jack's always been the one to ask the questions, and Will the one to offer up the answers. There are times when it bothers him -- shouldn't someone like Jack be answering his own questions? But there's no denying that this is the pattern they've fallen into, and it seems to work for them. At least when Will isn't teetering over the edge.

Part of what makes Jack good is that he asks the right questions. He pulls the information out of Will bit by bit, like pulling a fish in on the line.

"No, not a killer. This is something bigger than just one person." It doesn't take someone with an empathy disorder to see that. "I'd say... we're being recruited into something. They've decided we're useful."

His gaze moves down to his arm again, and he shrugs his shoulders. "They want us on their side, and they're not taking no for an answer." Will can only imagine that if they tried to run or resist in any way, this would all get ugly very quickly.

He glances over. "I'm sure you can think of ways in which we're both useful, Jack."
