THE MISTLETOE MEME

It was a quiet moment in the imPort cities, when the next devious plot of an unknown organization was realized. With the holiday season upon all the town, bundles of mistletoe with interference technology hidden in the festive bows and pins holding them together was distributed throughout the town and into all the residences of the imPorts.

The interference technology creates a stasis field keeping imPorts trapped underneath it, protecting the mistletoe itself with a small barrier. However, it only seems able to hold two people at a time, and and the reaction of the nanites to sudden changes in chemistry brought on by embracing or kissing brings the stasis field crashing down, leaving the mistletoe vulnerable to destruction at that time.

It's up to you, imPorts, to break free of these mistletoe traps and destroy all the mistletoe in the cities!

"Goddamn it, get the hell off of me," is all Joel has to say to that, a deep and gruff and almost dangerous sounding voice.

He wants to pull his gun out and stick the barrel of it against the person's ribcage, but inexplicable urge to cuddle has him... releasing his hold on the gun and wrapping his other arm around the person instead. All while he's attempting to struggle away from the person, albeit not very effectively because how can one struggle away from someone and shove someone away while hugging them close.

"I'm trying" Was she somehow being possessed right now? It wasn't funny. Skye got the feeling all this guy had to do was squeeze her a little too tightly and she'd be dead.

"I can't exactly get off of you when you've got me in a bear hug."

Screw trying to even argue with whoever the hell she is. Joel manages, only just, to wrench his arms away from her with intent to give her a hard shove backwards, and in any other circumstance, a hard shove from Joel would send her flying across the street with his superstrength, but it's like something is physically stopping him. He only manages to get as far as forcing her back from him just enough that he's able to see her face--

And if his expression wasn't already hard and dark from whatever the hell is going on here, it grows degrees darker at seeing who it is.

"Oh, Jesus," he utters, making no attempt to hide the utter disdain in his tone.

Skye's, understandably, confused by the dark expression on his face. Why did he look like he had just seen his worst nightmare?

"Dude, I'm telling you, I can't stop this. You clearly can't either." And she was clearly not understanding what the hell was happening here.
