Are you looking for roommates?: If your character is currently housing alone, or planning to move out of their assigned housing. Is your character considering moving to one of our other cities? See who else might be doing the same!
What is your character's job?: And are they sticking with it? Enjoying it? Coordinate with potential coworkers, employers, or patrons -- why not!

RUNDOWN -- what are your character's skills, likes/dislikes, urgent needs?: What are they good at, what do they hate, what do they need (and so on) so that others know what they can offer you.
What are your character's plans?: Either what they're doing as we speak or what you'd like to do with them!
Does your character have a secret identity?: Since this can get confusing at times. Is your character a superhero with a public identity or do just a few people know who they are? List them, even!
Is your character open for pairings?: Useful to know! Possibly.
Are you open to having your character get hurt? Or, for villains, hurt others?: If yes, how much and in what circumstances?
Is your character interested in teams?: Registered hero teams are very well-received around these parts, as you might guess. If yes, coordinate with possible teammates and see if you can put something together!

I'd like to think Robert's learning about Crane as well? Or how to play/steer the game, so to speak.

Yeah. His Incitement's been useful for that, imo.

I mean they can still nerd about literature - but Crane's going to openly go "no you're wrong" at him now. NERD FIGHTS.

But in all seriousness, I'd love to get into the meat of that CR they've got going on. Cal knowing all the signs of bullying, for instance. Crane can always try dragging up stuff about Abigail. But I think Cal should get something back, yeah.

TMW Robert attempts his own form of 'therapy' on Crane?...which mostly involves still trying to actually get him to act/indulge in normalcy. Or something. (Nerd fights totally count.)

Cal definitely recognizes the signs of bullyings, and probably dealt with - well, not so much reconditioning victims, but the whole encouraging-kids-to-do-better-and-enabling-them-to-move-past. I kind of see that's what he's trying to do with Crane, because he at least identifies with the man's brilliance, and if Crane can be 'saved', hey, maybe there's still hope for him after his stuff, too.

That's awesome and I'm all for it. Perhaps Crane might recognize such attempts? This was his line of work and what he's trained for, but if Robert's providing him with some benefit then he'd play along. Give him literature, culture, etc, etc. Turn up with books and proper classical recordings and you've got a deal. You could perhaps try having Robert to drag him to shows once he's out - there just needs to be that sweetener/reward alongside the stick.

Also they can totally nerd fight over Cal trying to save him. I think he'd take offense at that. He's likely been approached by therapists back home who tried getting him to crack - so they could make a name for themselves. So on that he'll first give Robert the same as they got. Silence. And hell.If Robert keeps pushing Crane can always lose his temper if he wounds him on a narcisstic level. He hates losing control so that'd be a really nice switch around? YOU'RE NOT MY DAD.

OKAY but how fucked up would it be if we got to the point where crane yelled that at him

and robert was just

"No. I'm your friend."

AND MEANT IT.

I think he'd be reminded of Pigeon a lot, as well? The two ended up with a mentor-student relationship - but the man also served the function of being his first real friend. So if Robert says that, he'll kick up all those memories. I've covered Pigeon in his app in his journal if you wanted to check that out but yeah.

I'm also planning to update him to post-rises at the end of the month, so they'll be closer in age and on more of a mutual footing. Grumpy old men nerd ranting. But I think that adds another layer here that's quite... sobering?

Considering Crane's gone even deeper down the hole, it does, but at the same time it's going to be fascinating and I am so looking forwards to it.

Same! I've written stuff up for his update and I'm just waiting for something else to get checked, since I'm going to work it in with his long term development, if possible. And that'll be useful here since Nolan Crane does show the capacity to work with others if it gets him what he wants. Though he's not a genuine friend, per say.
