TEST DRIVE MEME

01. The city of Heropa is what one might expect from a small, bright and cheery place, where locals are friendly enough and local shop owners might offer a free drink to welcome you to their fair city. Some of the locals might thank you for always lending your service to the nation and others might not say anything. In fact, some people might back away from any imPort who quite obviously looks like they aren't from around the neighborhood. Once in a while there's a look of disdain on someone's face and hushed voices. An upset voice wonders aloud: "More of them, when we already know they can't protect us? That's just painting a bigger target on the city's back!" However, they're quickly hushed with a judgmental: "They helped save the cities, and it's the Soviets you should be angry with anyway! The imPorts are here to protect us!"

02. De Chima, Virginia, is a large city with a healthy economy, and though it's quieter, there are just as many citizens awed at your presence. Many people are out and about taking care of their regular business, but that doesn't distract them from crowding you in excitement if you're obviously from a different time or world, or just let it slip that you're a newcomer. Children and young teenagers are especially likely to ask for an autograph and a photo.

Some locals seem less enthused to see you. They never make an approach, but they can be overheard scoffing and muttering something about spies. "How can we trust any of them now?"

03. Maurtia Falls, Pennsylvania, is not as friendly and its citizens tend to go out of their way to avoid walking down the same sidewalk as the more obvious looking imPorts pass through. Local cops say nothing, but they scowl at those imPorts and mutter under their breaths resentfully about "vigilantes". However, not all locals turn the other way seeing imPorts; some of them will offer a polite enough smile and thank them for their help in overthrowing the trespassers. They don't stop to clarify what they mean, though.

04. Nonah, North Carolina, is the liveliest of all cities; loud, busy and there's some kind of energy in the air that gets everyone buzzing with excitement. Anyone who they come to determine an imPort is bombarded with all sorts of offers; job offers, advertising gigs, spokesperson for advocating children stay in school, etc. Anything and everything! You name it. Shops offer discounts for food and clothing, whatever they need. Advertisements are abound for imPorts to make appearances at various, televised celebrations, luring them in with promises of free food, merchandise, and payment.

[It's neat, he likes it. He can think of a dozen ways such powers would come in handy, especially when all he can do is destroy things. Well, that's not all he can do but it's his one big power.

What really surprises him is the Martian bit. He blinks at her, gaze drifting skyward before returning to her.]

Martian? As in the from Mars kind of Martian? [What other type would there be?]

Yep. [She pops the P a little to emphasise it.]

Big red planet in the sky. I've been on Earth for awhile, though. Not this Earth, I guess, but another Earth.

[Weird to think about multiple Earths, but she's seen stranger things.]

[And there's the staring again. His smile hovers somewhere between surprise and interests before bursting into a large grin again. He rushes forward as if to closer inspect her only to quickly stop himself. He clears his throat and does his best to put on a more calm and business-like demeanor. But the excitement is still there. It can be seen in his eyes and the way the belt hanging from his waist curls at the end. Even the ear-like adornments on his head seem to have perked up from a relaxed state.]

Ah, where are my manners? Chat Noir. And you are?

[wifeonmars]

[M'gann endures the inspection politely. Nothing she isn't used to. Idly, she wonders what he'd think of her shapeshifting.]

You can call me Miss Martian. It's nice to meet you!

[pawdonnemoi]

[He'd love it. He may be a superhero but he still eats this kind of stuff up. It excites him and seeing other abilities is always fun.]

The pleasure is all mine, Miss. [He gives a little bow.]

So what is Mars like? We don't have any aliens I can ask, back home. At least, not that I'm aware of.

[wifeonmars]

Mars is... pretty boring compared to Earth, actually. We don't really have the diversity you have here. It's all red rocks and sand.

Of course, your Mars might be different! It's possible the Martians here just haven't made contact yet.

[pawdonnemoi]

[One hand rests under his chin and he listens, head tilting sideways a bit. A slight frown appears.] Well, that's a shame. [He'd hoped to hear about awesome alien technology and glass spires and fanciful things such as that.]

Purrhaps. If they're out there.

[wifeonmars]

Well, you never know! I mean, I have over 200 cousins. And Earth still kind of didn't know about us until my Uncle J'onn went to Earth.

[Earth probably still doesn't realise exactly how many Martians there are.]

[pawdonnemoi]

Two...hundred? [His brows go up.]

That's, um, a lot.

[wifeonmars]

I also have twelve sister and seventeen brothers. Big families are kind of a thing on Mars.

[She's definitely not going to mention the difference between Martians years and Earth years.]

[pawdonnemoi]

[So many siblings sounds ridiculous to him, but it must be nice to have a big family.] I have a hard time imagining that but it must be nice. Are you close with them all? Or were, before coming to Earth. Unless they traveled to Earth too.

[wifeonmars]

Kind of? It's hard to get along with everybody all the time when there are so many of us.

[Not the mention the whole white Martian vs. green Martian thing.]

[pawdonnemoi]

Oh, yeah, that makes sense. Family reunions must be quite the affair.

[He knows nothing of that. His own family is complicated enough, however. More so than he yet realizes.]

[wifeonmars]

We don't really do family reunions. We're always connected, in a way.

[Telepathy is useful like that.]

[pawdonnemoi]

Right, distance... [And size. It'd be hard to get so many people together for something like that.

As curious as he is about Martians and Mars he decides to switch gears.]

The people here are something, huh? Going completely starry-eyed over anyone in a costume. I mean, I'm kind of used to the attention back home but this is something else.

[wifeonmars]

It's a nice change. Where I'm from, some people hate superheroes.

[Though that's changing after the latest alien invasion, luckily.]

[pawdonnemoi]

Wow, that sounds terrible.

[The hate for him and Ladybug was shortlived so he has a hard time imagining it being a regular thing.]

So no statues dedicated to you or anything like that? Do you have a cool secret base?
