01. The city of Heropa is what one might expect from a small, bright and cheery place, where locals are friendly enough and local shop owners might offer a free drink to welcome you to their fair city. Some of the locals might thank you for always lending your service to the nation and others might not say anything. In fact, some people might back away from any imPort who quite obviously looks like they aren't from around the neighborhood. Once in a while there's a look of disdain on someone's face and hushed voices. An upset voice wonders aloud: "More of them, when we already know they can't protect us? That's just painting a bigger target on the city's back!" However, they're quickly hushed with a judgmental: "They helped save the cities, and it's the Soviets you should be angry with anyway! The imPorts are here to protect us!"

02. De Chima, Virginia, is a large city with a healthy economy, and though it's quieter, there are just as many citizens awed at your presence. Many people are out and about taking care of their regular business, but that doesn't distract them from crowding you in excitement if you're obviously from a different time or world, or just let it slip that you're a newcomer. Children and young teenagers are especially likely to ask for an autograph and a photo.

Some locals seem less enthused to see you. They never make an approach, but they can be overheard scoffing and muttering something about spies. "How can we trust any of them now?"

03. Maurtia Falls, Pennsylvania, is not as friendly and its citizens tend to go out of their way to avoid walking down the same sidewalk as the more obvious looking imPorts pass through. Local cops say nothing, but they scowl at those imPorts and mutter under their breaths resentfully about "vigilantes". However, not all locals turn the other way seeing imPorts; some of them will offer a polite enough smile and thank them for their help in overthrowing the trespassers. They don't stop to clarify what they mean, though.

04. Nonah, North Carolina, is the liveliest of all cities; loud, busy and there's some kind of energy in the air that gets everyone buzzing with excitement. Anyone who they come to determine an imPort is bombarded with all sorts of offers; job offers, advertising gigs, spokesperson for advocating children stay in school, etc. Anything and everything! You name it. Shops offer discounts for food and clothing, whatever they need. Advertisements are abound for imPorts to make appearances at various, televised celebrations, luring them in with promises of free food, merchandise, and payment.

[ She offers a sort of unreadable smile. It might be apologetic, her way of expressing contrition for the misunderstanding. It might mean something else. ]

Not today. [ Does she mean 'I'm not acting suspicious today' or 'you didn't run across someone suspicious today?' Hmmm... ]

Technically, you can't. You'll have to pick the lock first to see if the chain is on the door. [ ... ] Which I wasn't planning on doing, by the way.

[It's probably a good thing Adrien's interactions with people has mostly been limited to seemingly emotionless adults, until recently. He's still not that good at reading complete strangers. So he takes the smile as just a smile.

As for 'Not today', he decides to let that slide.]

Unless you had x-ray vision. But I'm guessing you don't. [Although with the way she'd been staring at that door one would think otherwise.]

[ Kitty wraps the band around her wrist and leaves it there, crossing her arms in a manner that's more contemplative than aggressive. ]

No, don't seem to have developed that overnight. [ She cocks her head. ] And you?

Would be pretty handy if you had.

[But then she could probably see Plagg hiding in his shirt and that could potentially be bad.]

Me? No. Nothing as cool as that.

[ She hums thoughtfully. ]

It would be. It'd make my job a lot easier sometimes. [ Looking pointedly at him now. ]

"Nothing as cool as that." But something, is that right?

[Right, powers. He should have chose his words more carefully, maybe tried to pay it off like he's just a native. But that wouldn't fly for long, he's still to new and doesn't know enough about this world to pull it off.

He can feel Plagg wiggle in his shirt, as if to protest Adrien saying anything more, and quickly put a hand over him.]

Well, yes, I mean... I'm an imPort so of course I given some sort of power. [But what? He hadn't yet decided on the lie to tell.]

[ If Kitty spots that little move, she says nothing about it. ]

Right, naturally. [ One brow rises just so. Well, it's probably rude to ask what that power is. Is this a 'I'll show you mind if you show me yours' kind of situation? She doesn't know if she should do that either. ]

If you don't want to talk about it, I could change the subject.

[ She says this while looking at the door again. Casually. ]

[There's no way he could produce results in that kind of situation, not without giving away his true power. And he'd rather not have someone know that he is Chat Noir, even if the rules are a little different here.]

It's really nothing worth talking about. But, um, maybe we shouldn't be lurking around other people's doorways?

[ Well, they are called secret identities for a reason, right?

At the comment, Kitty snaps her fingers and points in his general direction. ] A good point, probably.

[It's less secret when the government friggen knows.]

I think there's a park nearby or a cafe.

[ That changes the climate a little, doesn't it? Kitty's no masked hero and she's a bit leery about that. ]

All right. Your choice. Lead the way. [ She's still got some tension in her shoulders, so don't be surprised if she keeps a prudent distance when walking alongside him. ]

[It does and it doesn't sit well with him. Plagg said it needed to be a secret, he couldn't tell anyone, not even his Ladybug. Just as she couldn't tell him. It's rather unfair.

He nods and offers a smile before turning in the direction he saw the park. At least, he hopes it's the right direction, he still gets a little lost.]
