As things go, Kate really likes Ellie! As an individual, Kate sees Ellie as someone who has definitely been through a lot of crap, and being as young as Kate is, she's only seen some of the stuff that Ellie alludes to in her trips through other dimensions ... and she has a pretty good idea that the fact that Ellie seems so strong in spite of it says a lot about her. Kate respects her a lot, and there's a bit of a protective streak there.

Basically, she'd like to know Ellie better, and is going to seek out opportunities for that. /o/
