So... Jesse's feelings about Violet are less about Violet and more about oh my god this poor dead girl must help somehow. He likes her as a person, yeah, but he's really attached to her already in the sense that he will do pretty much anything to keep her safe and to make her happy so that he can in some way make up for her shit luck in life (even though none of it is his responsibility really).
