01. The city of Heropa is what one might expect from a small, bright and cheery place, where locals are friendly enough and local shop owners might offer a free drink to welcome you to their fair city. Some of the locals might thank you for always lending your service to the nation and others might not say anything. In fact, some people might back away from any imPort who quite obviously looks like they aren't from around the neighborhood. Once in a while there's a look of disdain on someone's face and hushed voices.

An upset, deeply masculine voice wonders aloud: "More of them, when we already know they can't protect us? That's just painting a bigger target on the city's back!"

"That's just what Ronald Chump says!" Exclaims a young woman. She raises her fist in anger at the imPort-hating individual. "We're not going to tolerate bigots here!"

02. De Chima, Virginia, is a large city with a healthy economy, and though it's quieter, there are just as many citizens awed at your presence. Science and technology are the lifeblood of this city, so you're likely to come across a good many locals taking your picture with the newest of devices. Be forewarned: since FanPort happened, imPort fandom is at a new height. Don't be surprised if people start following you just to see if you'll do anything TMZ-worthy.

The trick is to stay calm, and don't wig out if someone asks what you think about imPort shipping.

03. Maurtia Falls, Pennsylvania, is having a rainy day. The streets seem to be running with water, the sky can't seem to stop crying. You might want to check out some consumerism-inclined shelter, be that a smoky and dart-eyed bar full of grumbling locals, or a grimy and industrial coffee shop (full of grumbling locals). Watch your step, newly minted imPort, because if you let on that you're fresh meat then you're likely to attract a posse of two or three sharp knuckled no-good-dooers. This is the criminally exciting part of town, so beware.

04. Nonah, North Carolina, is the liveliest of all cities; loud, busy and there's some kind of energy in the air that gets everyone buzzing with excitement. There's a baseball game going on in one of the parks amidst all those tall buildings, and you're welcome to watch! It's not an official game in the season, it's more like a friendly skirmish between local baseball teams. Midway through the game, the umpire might take note of you new imPorts -- assuming you're standing out in the crowd. He'll welcome you to throw a pitch if you'd like! Of course, the opposing team isn't too keen on the idea. Better look for more imPorts to play ball!

[ Brianna looks up at Daryl, mildly surprised he's approaching her, but not afraid—even though he looks like he seriously needs a bath and a haircut. She's pretty sure she looked worse when she showed up, so she'll give him a pass there. Instead of commenting on his appearance or his kind of rude approach, she reaches out and takes the picture from him.

Oh. Enid and Carl. (Wait, are they dating or something? How come she doesn't know about this? Whatever. She'll deal with that later.) She looks from the picture of her fellow imPorts to the man asking about them and frowns, suddenly suspicious. What does a guy like this want with them? ]

Who's asking?

No one ever talked like that unless they knew someone. Whoever this kid was, she was protective. Daryl shifted his feet and adjusted the strap of his crossbow. He wasn't trying to intimidate her with the action, just have something for his hands to do as he gave the kid a goo once over.

"Family," he finally answered, keeping it simple. "You know 'em?"

[ Brianna is short and skinny, like she hasn't had a good meal in a while, with scars on her arms and legs. She looks at the crossbow. It's pretty cool, and normally she'd be all about trying to get him to let her shoot at something with it, but she's still suspicious of his intentions. ]

I know Carl's dad, and you're not him. You an uncle or something?

"Something like that," Daryl agreed, processing the new info. He'd been told about the whole taken from their worlds thing and how it didn't 'interrupt' anything. Not that he'd really understood it. But Enid, Carl and Rick? That was a lot of people he should have noticed missing.

"Rick's here, too?" he asked, brows furrowing before he knelt down to put himself at her level. "You know how long they been here?"

Longer than me.

[ She's not sure exactly how much longer, just that Rick seemed to be pretty comfortable with this universe by the time she showed up in it, and Carl too. Enid is maybe newer, she thinks. ]

Rick's been pretty cool to me, [ She adds, in a tone that makes it pretty obvious that if Daryl's lying about this she's going to track him down somehow. ]

"He's a good man, ain't surprised," Daryl snorted, lips twitching into a semblance of a smirk, though it held a touch of sadness. The weight of everything they'd been through.

"Name's Daryl," he went on to say, nodding. "Dixon. Rick's my brother. Could you tell him I'm in town? I can give you the address of the house the government people put me up in."

He already understood her reluctance to tell him where any of the three were, so he didn't bother asking if she'd take him to them. Better to let her bring them to him.

[ She has to admit that his story holds up, at least when it comes to the basics. He knows Rick is the name of Carl's dad, and he definitely looks like he just walked out of some gnarly zombie apocalypse situation. If that's the case, she can sympathize with him. Their situations aren't the same, but there are enough similarities for her to understand, deeply, how much it must suck. ]

I'm Brianna. I don't know their address or anything, but I'm pretty sure they all live in Heropa.

Daryl went quiet for a second, frowning. Not at her, to himself. He'd been in Heropa only a few hours before. Big place and the locals weren't quite as friendly or willing to help as they were in De Chima. Most of them were paranoid.

"You live around here, then?" He asked, instead of staying on the same track. He wasn't sure how to get hold of them if she didn't know where they lived. But if they were in contact, maybe they knew where she lived. "They come up here to visit you?"

[ Brianna shakes her head. ]

I'm visiting someone up here. [ She tilts her head a little and gives him a small smile. ] Not lying, I swear.

He gave another snort, "Didn't think you were." It just made finding Rick and the others harder than he'd have liked. And he couldn't exactly ask a kid to cut her visit short just to take him back to her place so he could wait on the off chance one of his family showed up sometime soon.

Daryl stood up, bringing a thumb to his mouth before taking a look around, "you got anything to write with? I can still give you the address of the place I'm at and you can pass it on to one of 'em next time you see 'em."

[ She digs her communicator out of her bag and holds it out to him. ] You can type it on this. [ She could go ahead and offer to text one of them, but she's not sure that's a good idea. At least this way Rick will be able to decide what he wants to do for himself. ]

Daryl took it and held it awkwardly. Even before things went to shit, the most technologically advanced phone he'd messed around with was a brick of a flip phone. Merle was the one always dealing with burner phones and neither of them had cells of their own. Daryl could build himself a motorcycle out of disparate parts, but smart phones were just a little weird.

Still, the interface wasn't that difficult to understand and she'd brought up a writing program of some sort before handing it over. He had to fiddle to figure out the keypad, but within a couple minutes had the address down. He handed it back with a small smile, "Thanks, kid. And uh, if you ever need anything, you can head over there, too. If I'm not there, I'll probably be back around dark."

Getting home and inside by sunset was just kind of habit anymore. When it was possible, anyway.

You want me to just hang around at your house until you get home? [ She asks, eyebrows raised. Isn't he worried she'll wreck the place or burn it down or TP all the trees or something? Adults from the zombie apocalypse are weirdly nice. ]

Daryl shrugged. If she was walking around here all by herself and getting along with Rick, then she was probably trust worthy, "Sure. Ain't got nothing there 'cept what the government gave me. So there ain't much to do."

[fayzedandconfused]

Okay.

[ She scratches her cheek, thinking. ]

I don't have much stuff either. But I'm storing food in case of emergencies. Rick is too.

Smart. Should store other supplies, too. Blankets, some clothes, batteries, flashlights, matches, rope, stuff like that. Things that come in handy in an emergency. Water.

Once I find Rick, I'll let you know where home's gonna end up being for the time being. Might end up different than the house they gave me if Rick's got a place already set up for the family. But the house could be useful for storage even after that.

Yeah, totally. You can use it like a warehouse. That's mostly how mine is. It's just me and one other guy, and I never see him.

This other guy family?

[ She looks a little downcast when he says that. "Family." ]

No. He's just some guy.

"Then watch yourself around him," it was the best advice he could give short of moving out and he wasn't sure that was a particularly viable option for her. Even if she was resourceful and smart, she was still a kid. And he didn't want her endangering herself needlessly. "I'm gonna see if anyone else around here knows Carl or Enid. Keep yerself safe, kid."

Will do.

[ She gives him a small, joking salute. ] Good luck, dude.

That gets an amused snort out of him and he returns the salute with a quick one of his own as he turns and walks off. Kid was cute.
