What were you before you became human?

I actually never heard of humans before turning into one myself, actually.

[AND THAT.....is a complicated question.]

I'll admit, I've gotten used to being a human...and I mean, most of my friends are human too, but sometimes you just kind of miss being who you used to be.

[A PAUSE.]

Having hands is nice.

Mmm... it must be a difficult adjustment, being forced into the shape of an entirely different species. And humans are so very different from horses--only one stomach, for instance.

[She smiles.]

But the thumbs are terribly convenient.
