TEST DRIVE MEME
Considering apping into MASK OR MENACE? Want to dip your toes into the setting and get a feel of whether your character will fit into it? Or maybe you're just cruising and want to play around? Then you've come to the right place!

Pick any of the following scenarios below or feel free to make up your own, but don't be afraid to throw yourself at anyone's thread, either!

And remember to have fun!

    01. Your memory is hazy and you might feel increasingly frustrated or anxious, or maybe you're excited as soldiers march past, barely glimpsing you. One second you're somewhere underground, the next you're enveloped in blue light, and suddenly you find yourself directly under Flordia sun's bright and burning glare. A female soldier steps toward you with a wide smile on her face and directs you to a car, ready to debrief you. You realize you are not the only one, surrounded by equally confused or eager faces... and you're all sporting a digital tattoo on your wrist.

    02. Welcome to Cape Canaveral, where the smell of the ocean is in the air and locals are more than pleased to see new imPorts roaming their streets. They wave, they cheer, they ask for pictures as politely as they can. The more inhuman you look, or if you're wearing a costume, the more likely locals are to approach. Hey, enjoy the moment! The popular malt shop is offering you a free drink if you need it.

    03. The technology in this world is certainly something. The cars are clearly modeled after popular 50s cars, but they hover several feet above the ground as they drive down the street. There are digital jukeboxes in restaurants, motorcycles also hover through traffic, advertisements can be seen on a digital projector on the taller buildings. Even kids on skateboards appear to drift a safe ten feet off the ground while playing!

    04. Wherever you are, you can hear the loud revving of an engine, distance at first before you finally see it: a hovercar bursting around the corner, going beyond the maximum speed limit and just barely making its sharp turn. It doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon, not with two police cars trailing it... and uh oh. Those skateboarding kids don't have much time to get out of the way as the car comes speeding down the road. You've been brought here for a reason Hero — so you better act fast.

No. I would've reported in if I'd realized. [Like the man or not, there are certain behaviors and principles that should be respected. Jean's a member of the corps, so he doesn't circumvent certain parts of his training. Either way, he's weary—not because of here. That feeling of fatigue doesn't belong here. But back home, and it's just carried over.]

Do we have any orders right now? [Jean can't help it, but he looks away at the people in the malt shop. They look ... happy, and it's not the same kind of naive happiness that he'd grown up with. These are people who have never seen titans. The fact that a world like that could truly exist ... where they aren't fettered with worries about whether their kind will die within five, ten, or fifteen years, or where they might be discarded for the sake of more lives.

It's so strange to see humanity like this.]

I am pleased to hear that. We hold our obligation to the Survey Corps here first and foremost, any vows to make this new government as imPorts second. [Erwin's tone is lowered as he leans forward, watching Jean's reaction. ]

As for orders, our current ones to serve humanity still stand even here. Have you registered? [Erwin's eyes glance down at Jean's wrist but he can't see the tattoo from where he's sitting.]

[Some part of Jean corrects Erwin, thinking that his obligation is to humanity, and how he holds the perspective that humanity and the Survey Corps may not be the same group after all. But he doesn't say his doubts even then. It's better to align himself with the familiar corps in this unfamiliar world.

This isn't a place threatened in the same way, so he can lay them to rest.

(For now.)

He only nods to the former half—though it extends from there.]

I have. It seemed unwise otherwise. [He says little more than that, but standing in opposition to the government openly would be terribly unwise.]

Very well. It does seem the most prudent course at the moment and it will allow you several benefits as well.

[Erwin said in response, that was all he needed to hear at the moment. He needed to know that those of the Survey Corps who would be trusting him would return that loyalty when it came to following orders at the very least.]
