Like Gwen, a lot of Crane's personality is molded by childhood trauma, but he isn't in denial about the nature of it so much as he's sailed away from it all together - whilst claiming he gets it. Perhaps it might be interesting and horrible to potentially have them being to connect all that shit, and him for her especially, going along childhood lines?
