[ She thinks many things. She thinks that this is providing for herself, providing fabulous wealth and parties and soon fame beyond anything his life of dedication and sacrifice could ever amount to and how's that for fair old man? She thinks about how this is, technically, "everything she ever wanted." Isn't that providing? She also thinks about the things that she truly wants, the people lost. The prices she had never agreed to pay.

Her genuine inability to sort her feelings is all that spares her for another uncomfortably vulnerable confession. ]
